Lets talk about the new T34-85 (STP)

No it’s easily a 6.0
Just as the KV-220 is 5.7 material
And the T-44(FM) should be a 6.0

But as per usual, Russian tanks are over br’d merely because other nation’s players take pot shots and usually hit bad angles which then you kill them.

Then they get mad and call Russian bias.

The only real advantage to the 76 Jumbo is armor, but that’s completely worthless in an uptier, and the T-34-85 has a tendency to just ignore shells that shoulda killed it.

Honestly, a 0.7 raise seems pretty fair for adding a stabilizer on an already very good tank.

I love the screenshots which show the 85mm & 76mm are very similar in capability.

Then maybe you need to have your eyes checked.

Then again, if you think a heavy tank with a 85mm gun that has as much side armor as a Tiger has front armor should be 5.7, maybe it’s not just your eyes.

Except the gun / cupola are massive weakspots?

The turret isn’t reliable at all, given its model is so old it’s cracked to hell and can be killed by things that shouldn’t be able to kill it.

It loads way too slow for having 2 loaders, and generally is a meh tank. It doesn’t have the mobility, armor, or gun to reliably engage 7.0 or even 6.7 tanks.

Tigers are better in all aspects bar the side armor.

Welcome to the heavy tank club.

I was thinking of more in uptier cases when the APHE won’t pen.

Something like the front of a T2 (H) turret. Pz 39 wont pen that, but the Pz 40 can.

T14, T58, T29, etc all don’t have those problems, with having good mobility, armor, and a good gun.

Or the prized T26E5 “destroyer of worlds”

why would you spawn jumbo in a uptier in the first place? jumbo turret/ is far bouncier than t-34’s there is practically no reason to play t-34-85 stp over jumbo when theyre both 6.3. even if the 85mm gun is on paper better than the 76mm theres not much of a functional difference when you have to aim for the same weakspots etc

T-34-85 STP will be far better in uptiers, and roughly the same in downtiers.

t-34-85 stp is nowhere near as dominant as a 76 jumbo in downtiers. in uptiers it frequently fights t29s and other late war heavies where its just as useless

Jumbo 76 isn’t close to dominate in downtiers. T-34-85 STP can always use its advantages, uptier or downtier. Jumbo 76 can only use its advantage in a downtier, and it’s not a big advantage over the T-34.

Good luck fighting Tigers and Panthers in the T14.

Good luck fighting T-54 and IS-4M in the T29 and don’t get me started about the T26E5 in full uptiers.

Good luck finding a tank that the P2W T58 struggles against.

Yeah, that’s the issue. Can’t think of anything with relatively flat armor in the 150-190mm range that APCR would be a good choice against that Tiger would face, as late Tiger II will almost always be on the same team.

This tank is unplayable.
1- The vehicle is super slow, impossible to compete against the vehicles in 7.3.
2- The vehicle is made of paper and has a very very very very very looong reload time compared to other paper vehicles, but with an instant autoloader at this battle rate.
3- You only get uptier. There is no downtier in battle rate 0.3 (like 9.3, 8.3, 6.3).
4- You have an APHE that can’t kill Tiger 2s and T32s head-on in a BR where there is a SPAM of these vehicles.

Super slow compared to what?

Panther A,G,F - around 13,3 HP/ton, 3km/h reverse.
King Tiger - nowadays it’s barely even moving with with less than 9 HP/ton.
Jagdpanther - same story as Panthers.

T-34 STP - 15,5HP/ton, 8km/h reverse.

76mm Jumbo: 13,2 HP/ton, 5km/h reverse.

IMO 85 STP belongs somewhere between 6.0 and 6.3 as I consider it better than Panthers and slightly worse than 6.3 vehicles like super Hellcat or T25. It would be nice if some hull up-armor package was available, but vs 76mm Jumbo if you angle right, he has to hunt for turret weakspots anyway.
However, there is no 6.15 BR, and better for STP to be a little too weak, than to overperform and hurt entire BR range.
Same reason why IMO Su-100P has no business sitting at 6.3 with its racecar mobility (24km/h reverse!) and insanely good gun and turn rate (making slow turret traversr a non-issue). It will be a bit weak at 6.7 but that’s way better than terrorising entire teams in the 5.3-6.3 range.
Same thing with Msta and PzH 2000 - both deserve to go up 1 step.

Is perfectly fine in 6.3.

68% win ratio and near 1-5 in kills but is unplayble???

Lmao, that’s a very poor rebuttal.

  1. I’m glad you agree the T58 is blatantly broken, and can kill 11.7s with ease, but yet you don’t mention its need to go up in br. It’s also vastly better than other heavies at their own brs.
  2. T14 can actually bounce tigers and panthers reliably. And only sees them in full uptiers, with a reload to put pace them.
  3. t26e5 can reliably bounce, and kill IS-4s, and has a slightly harder struggle with T-54s but will likely be the victor.
  4. T29 is a superb tank. Good mobility, great gun, and can pen the Maus with its APCR which, is actually good in that tank.

Those tanks are by far all under br’d and punch way above their weight.

But you get mad that I mention how the KV-220 cannot do the same. It becomes bad at 6.3, even worse at 6.7 matches. 7.0 it’s unplayable… unless your only shooting light tanks and fire first.

Therefore 5.7 is the ideal Br for it. Especially given its artificially slow reload.
