Let's talk about the F/A-22 Raptor

Hey @Panther2995 and @Armen_Lozone lets calm this down before anyone decides to share some secret docs on here

That is an over exaggeration.

Typhoon IRST can lock onto it at about 40km and guide an ASRAAM onto it quite easily. And modern AESA like Captor-E can actually detect and lock onto them. That is what these modern AESA are designed to counter.

In WVR typhoons routinely beat F22s in dogfight.

It’s good but not god

I can already see upcoming NGAD classified documents.

Besides jokes i believe me and Armen is quite calm and already ended our discussion.

According to USAF it has the size of bee on radar.

Thats simply untrue.

Airframe itself cannot handle 11G’s consistently.

This is also not true, advanced Ir missiles such as IRIS-T,Python-5,ASRAAM,MICA and Aim-9X can actually do that.

20 years ago this was true however today’s standart its possible to detect and engage with Raptor at least Nato vehicles can do that, cant say the same thing for Russia and China tho.

I would argue its the other way around though. All the sensors like maws, irst/camera, lws sensors, and the sensor fusion computer weighs down the flight performance.

F-35 was never designed to be pure Air superiority fighter thats why those sensors was quite important even tho it costs additional weight.

I’m more excited for a potential MiG-31.

I just hope the forum is ready for the whinge posts when an F-22 gets shot down by anything… especially if its energy bleed off with the thrust vectoring is modelled correctly. With our smaller maps WVR will undoubtedly happen and a good Typhoon pilot can absolutely dominate an F-22 here.

By this I mean any other Typhoon than a British one of course.

That !!! Especially that!!!
Even more special if it got shot down by a Rafale at gun range ^^"

Last I checked they used Raptors to fight the Decepticons NOT Rafaels. NERF the Rafael and Typhoon.

And Decepticons got more deceptive than F-22A (remember Starscream in F-22 Form)

i can’t agree on that Part though :D

not true they are getting ready to retire the F-22 and completely replace it with f-35

It would be cool but because of only 2 hard points it would almost be like adding the sr71 but a lot slower

Going to be another situation like the f14, where every shitter flocks to play it and they end up getting bodied by even gen3s, then proceed to complain that gaijin is russian and didn’t model stealth properly (must be unkillable, even when hitting the ground)

NGAD is the project to replace the F-22. That has been postponed and an upgrade to extend the service life of F-22s is being implemented instead.

that are actually planning to retire the f22 due to issues regarding to cost and the fact that its datalink cant communicate directly to other fighter such as the f-15 and f-35 (and the fact that correcting that would cost too much as well)

The TALON HATE pod exists which translates between Link 16 and MADL / IFDL so the lack of a direct connection is less an issue.
