Let's talk about the f-117 (And possible variant's)

Just realized, this isn’t posted under machinery of war section. Wonder how long until this gets locked :P

It is rather dubious because what radar would the F-117 use? Why did they attach pylons with coolants for the AIM-9s?

I think something like that would be like giving a biplane missiles, like yeah maybe it could but it’s a logistical nightmare and not good for anyone ;)

That picture kills me. Lol. Lmfao.

Anyways… the F-117 has no viability in WT, not to mention that a fair bit about it is still classified iirc. It’d just be dead weight and we already have entire lines of dead weight aircraft for every nation. Thanks, Gaijin, very cool.

We are talking about the first stealth to be added

YF-12 is better with air to air.

But does its 2300kg payload allow it to destroy a base?

That’s false, it is a actual fighter jet that Japan bought

Like the red Baron’s airplane

Japan never bought the F-16 currently found in the Japanese tech tree. They trailed the jet (they even trialed the F-14), but that was it as they never purchased it. Instead they went on to purchase and use the F-15, & eventually develop the Mitsubishi F-2!

Japan never bought any F-16s, the “F-16AJ” is fictional / a paper design.

“The F-16AJ Fighting Falcon represents the proposed introduction of a Japanese F-16A closely resembling a YF-16 into JASDF service, as proposed by General Dynamics in their corporation brochure and advertisement during exhibition in Japan by the 1980s. The JASDF had plans to select a winner from 13 candidates proposed by different aircraft companies as part of a program to replace its ageing fleet of F-104Js and to serve alongside their F-4EJ aircraft. Ultimately, the program came down to a choice between the F-14, F-15, and F-16 where the F-15 emerged as the victor, becoming the F-15J; while the concept of Japanese “F-16” eventually evolved into the Mitsubishi F-2 which became the first jet to be equipped with AESA radar by 2000.”
The War Thunder Wiki page for the F-16AJ

Then why is it in the Game?

Let’s get the Swiss Saab JAS-39C Gripen then

That’s photoshop

That’s the point

Actually a Brazilian F-39 for Germany would be better

Bro this isn’t an educational institution, it’s a pixel military vehicle forum

In that case it won’t be first. It will be added alongside the F-22 and J-20. F117 will be first and serve as a live test, similar to the F-14 with ARH.

Cause there’s no in-service equivalent for 12.7/13.0 [well, F-15J would’ve been if it had 9Ls only].
With Thailand F-16A OCU can replace it.
