Now, In term’s of gameplay.
These would basically be pure support role vehicles meant to prolong the team’s involvement in a match.
These would be let’s say between 40-70 sp to spawn in. Their main purpose would basically be to hunt down destroyed tank’s left out in the battle. This would give a meh rp/sl reward (Let’s say about as much as a crit) But in turn, Would give about 30sp to the recovery player and 70 SP to the destroyed player.
The recovery vehicle would have a cone(or full ring) around it which the player would use to recover a destroyed tank.
(If the destroyed player has left the game. The recovery vehicle then get’s 55 sp)
What’s there to talk about? They don’t have a purpose ingame, and the one you are proposing get created for them just makes anyone that spawns one more useless than if they just 1-death leave.
Not every vehicle type needs to be represented in WT, and there is certainly far more important vehicles still missing than vehicles that hardly count as combat vehicles.
Good idea, every new class of vehicle makes the game better, i would love this over another bunch of copy paste top tier tanks.
But before recovery vehicles (and support vehicles aswell, they could also work in game) are added, i would suggest they add the other missing important classes first, these are:
self propelled artillery vehicles of ww2 (i hate to see M109 driving alongside a Panther) and also implement an indirect fire mechanic for these.
since trailers are already in game (churchill crocodile) they could add towed artillery pieces, and towed anti tank guns.
And if not player controlled, as AI they should definitely be added. This would make the world feel mor alive. I dont know why there are no AI ground units fighting alsongside the players, like it literally is in Air battles (the pillboxes, bunkers, howitzers, flaks and machine guns).
They already had AI tanks in carpathia, but they got removed, aswell as the D point, that gave a purpose for supply aircraft. I dont know why they wont add these back.
Also how great would it be if AI supply trucks and halftracks dtive to the points and back. Defending them awards a few points aswell as destroying those of the enemy.
Also the armored train on flanders should defend the capture point until it is destroyed.
This is one idea I was thinking of a while ago but I have no idea how well it would implement into standard gameplay, how it would spawn, if or not they would be tech tree etc.
Removing friendly wrecks for SP/Team Ticket reimbursement
Whether a Recovery vehicle could act as a “medic” of sorts, being able to “revive” a friendly tank after a repair time (at 2 crew, destroyed tanks via Ammo Explosion would obviously not be able to be revived)
Acting like a mobile capture point for the purpose of ammunition resupply and buffing nearby repair times
Probably wouldn’t bother with trucks but stuff like the Bergepanther/Tiger, CRAAV, BTS-2 and M88 ARV. Might work, might not.
let’s just keep asking for useless dumb trash to be added to the game adding millions worth of RP with the current broken and trashy RP “gain” that we have.
