It’s not just the balance, the game design just isn’t suited for the player density.

We need fewer players, or more spread out players. If you disagree and think 16v16 is fine, Arcade is just one click away.

16.0 would allow decompression of 12.7+ as well as adding 1.0 BRs of decompression somewhere else. However, considering we need a full 2.0 to properly decompress 6.0-12.7, I don’t see 16.0 being good enough.

We got 12v12 teams a while ago but nothing known about a 8v8, but

  • Squads would be a bit unbalanced
  • Matches would be significantly shorter

Simple answer? Air Sim sized maps with 12v12 (Or maybe somewhat smaller with 8v8), hell make everyone spawn at a different airfield equal distance away.

16.0 would be really good but realistically by the time we have the F-22 there’ll be at least 18-20 BR ranges, Gaijin can’t stretch the playdough overnight but they should probably pick up the pace a bit

Then don’t play it.
Also BR 17.0 physically cannot exist, there’s not enough aircraft in the world for that BR range; mathematically provable too.
Let’s say we decompress 9.3. That moves top BR to 14.7 - 15.0.
Alright, now let’s decompress 12.7, that adds 15.3.
Congrats, you’re not even to 16.0 and it’s effectively decompressed.

Also sim-sized maps are already in rotation.
City, Afghan, and Spain are the only ones that aren’t sim-sized.
8v8 is arcadey and too much pressure.

F-22’s loadout is identical to Gripen… just stealth. It’s not as big of a leap as you’ll think it be.

I don’t fully agree. You can get atleast 0.7-1.0 out of decompressing 12.7+, atleast 0.7 out of decompressing 9.0-10.0, then another 0.3 for figuring out 8.0-9.0 without ruining the experience of the old 9.0 planes, and finally 0.3 in the 7.X BR range just to make lower BR early jets better. That ends up with 2.3-2.7 BRs of decompression, and that’s being a bit conservative.

They need to be implemented better. Right now they don’t offer any new gameplay, because gaijin spawns everyone on the same airfield.

It’s the opposite of arcadey, but I agree that it is too few players. 16v16 fits way better with the gameplay length of arcade battles, and it should never have been added to air RB. It had not had a single positive impact on the mode.

So you want arcade to have realism and realistic battles to have arcade… wow.

or the ej kai 0.3 lower than mig29 or f16 xD
gaijin = perfectly balaned planes

arcade and realistic can have same amount of players while still having mechanical differences, even then it is possible to consider lessening amount of players in arcade matches while keeping 16v16 in realistic because realistic is more scarce

I want realistic battles to not be an arcadey 16v16 furball that leads to constant steamrolls. And I want slower and more tactful gameplay in realistic battles.

That requires players.
Cause regardless 16v16 will always be slower battles than 8v8.
Cause instead of 2 - 5 furballs, you have 1 - 2 furballs with 8v8, and the smaller the maximum furball, the more of a steamroll and faster the match is.

A furball of 8 people will win 100% of the time against teams that don’t stick together in that equal number.

It can happen in 16v16, but it’s harder to get 16 people on one team to be one giant bee wave.

That is only true if you assume players die at the same rate regardless of match size, which isn’t true.

I just want high tier gameplay that doesn’t last 5 minutes, and end in every battle being a steamroll for one side. 16v16 just makes those issues worse.

Well 8v8 matches last 3 minutes, I know cause I played 2 minute 8v8 matches in 2019 and that was prior to the acceleration and slight map increase of 2022.
