It technically can give you an advantage as you unlock modifications quicker, thus making your tank better faster. This could be a difference of having stock HEAT instead of a dart in your next engagement.

That’s just a time advantage, not an actual in-game advantage. Everyone has access to the same modules. Anyone can unlock all the modules eventually, even if they do it in assault.

Bushes concealing weak spots (like Jumbo mg-port) is an in-game advantage.

If I have HEAT-FS or APDS the whole front is a weak spot and even with full caliber the UFP is the only part I really need to avoid hitting, but the right (my right as I look at it) LFP has the ammo behind it and the left turret face has the gunner/commander lined up.
How did I do?

How long did it take for you to figure out the tank?
(because I stared at it for a minute and couldn’t figure it out)

Honestly, with no BR range or list of opposing nations to pick from a couple of minutes. I guessed it was British within a second or two due to the smoke grenade launchers arrangement and placement, an extra minute or so more to notice the equipment boxes on the turret sides that Centurions have, then the fume extractor on the barrel means its a 105mm gun as the smaller guns lack that so its a MK-10. I’ll admit the way the straw on the right side of the turret looks like part of the turret cheeks tossed me through a loop for a bit, I thought it might have been a chally2 for a bit given the shape, that was the biggest time sink in IDing it.

Yes, you get to have better things faster, which is definitely an advantage.
Bushes are also an advantage.

Some F2P games can’t help themselves but do stuff like this.
