I am new enough that I have never played on White Rock Fortress, but from what I have seen, it looks like a good map, and I would like to try it out in battle. So yes, please bring it back Snail.
Its just tiring how gaijin handles issues with this game, and what they add, change or remove
however if they can make russia OP they will do it.
If a report significantly (or even so slight its insignificantly) buffs a minor nation they hates thing (I’m talking britain, France and Israel here) it will be accepted and then ignored forever. Merkava and tortoises armour are in this situation where they are missing literal tons worth of armour.
and if it can nerf russian it will get the “not enough info”, “not a bug” or “balancing decision” reply even if its got irrefutable evidence
if it nerfs something from a nation they hate even if the report is bogus guesswork with no accurate information it passes no matter
I honestly don’t understand why they removed it. It’s the same rubbish map as almost all the others in the game. For the same reasons this one was removed, they could remove 80% of the maps.
They added red out of bounds areas in the middle of some maps , slippery slope to prevent going out of bounds is pointless at this point. Indestructible dragons teeth or Czech hedgehogs, or even better mine fields could be added to the same result. Then driving up a hill in unrestricted areas wouldn’t be affected.
They couldn’t get rid of that map fast enough. The only viable position was taking the far outside and sniping inward. With now more modern vehicles it woudl be far, far worse.
I really dont understand the nostalgia love for the white r(c)ock fortres.
The map dynamics were absolutely terrible.
WW2 and early cold war vehicles didnt have the mobility to counteract the absolutely atrocious terrain.
Late cold war and modern vehicles were too fast so the map handled like MMA octagon match. SPAAs in particular were borderline unplayable because there was no position they could reach and focus on AA duty. You stay in cap and get shot from the walls, move inwards and you get express ticket to garage and on top of that have zero angles to supress enemy air beside high alt bombers, move outwards and get either warning that you are leaving the game area or get shot from enemy spawn because there was little to no cover breaking the line of sight.
Not to mention situations with vehicles like TOW wiesel that could lock down entire lanes with no counterplay from ground vehicles.
