The only thing I didn’t like about it (that most probably did :/) was that the fortifications were scaled for tanks, not realistically. There was no way tanks could drive on 16th century stone walls. Same problem Flanders’ “trenches” have, but luckily Iberia resisted doing that. Also making them look like ruins instead of an active “contemporary” defense… /rant
Hopefully they bring it back reworked and improved graphically.
I unfortunatley never got to play it but have seen plenty of footage of the map in play and it really doesn’t look bad at all only really tripping up soviet and german heavies. nowadays with the higher mobility and better compression of low tier it will likely play better.
I loved this map and was sad with its removal for rework just never to be returned.
Also, if you have issues playing on this map I would like to point out that I am a 0.8KD casual that is calling skill issue for not being able to figure out how to play one of the most versatile maps the game had.
Sure, if they improve all tanks ingame ability to climb inclines to a realistic and historical standard. Just use more slippery slopes for out of bounds areas and it should be fine really.
I don’t think it’s that the map is “bad”, not bad at all really. The thing is, when it was made, and several other older maps like Ash River and so on, “top tier” was about half what it is now in BR. Those maps were not made for higher BR’d, longer range vehicles at all. But Gaijin, using it’s “one size fits all” thing stuck BRs on there that in now way should have ever seen those maps. Later on they even made bigger maps and stuck BR ranges far too low on those as well.
Map sizes, spawn and cap point locations should vary a lot more than they do, this has always been a problem with map design and BR placement on some maps.
I mainly play Air AB and even there the problem is pretty evident. Nothing quite as much of a buzzkill and spawning on a map with your 4.7 prop line up only to realize . . .“this map is a jet map” . . . or trying to get ground kills in your 3.3 BR IL-2 on Rocky Canyon. . . . yeah . . . nah.
They get some of that sorted here and there, but it is still a persistent problem in almost every mode I play at times.
I don’t think there are many “bad” maps, but BR placement and the static locations of spawns & caps . . . just doesn’t work in many places

Aha. Okay, so yeah… naw. It was a wretched map at any level in the past, and would only be even more so today (because everything gets worse in general the higher you go).
