Why is it still at 9.3? The tech tree 1A5 has a DM33 that has way more pen than DM13, and it’s at the same BR. The only upside is a slightly increased turret rotation, but nobody is going to brawl with Leopard anyway.
It can’t really go down, the normal A1A1 and Tam is alr at 9.0 with DM23 but with lrf, this being at 9.3 is fine. It should get DM23 tho.

Its only 28mm difference at 10m
They have the same gun handling, 24°/s horizontal, 7°/s vertical max

The A1A1 L/44 should by no means be at a lower BR, solely comparing it to a singular other vehicle in the same techtree doesnt give you the whole picture…
And even then, comparing it to what 9.0 vehicles in the german TT offer, it should be more than evident why the A1A1 L/44 cannot be at a lower BR.
120mm DM13 also has the advantage of much better ballistics compared to 105mm DM33

I don’t find it underpowered at 9.3, i’m perfectly happy with it being there.
L44 has more spall than the 105 of the 1A5, that means better damage when penning, imo a better vehicle than the 1A5
The L44 is fine at 9.3. Not the best, not even good to be fair, but not terrible. Now the regular A1A1- that vehicle actually has problems st its BR. And definitely wouldn’t make sense to have the two at the same BR!
Perhaps the L44 could benefit from DM23 though- the ~10mm extra pen would be a small but significant buff
