Literally problems in almost every T-series in real life, so T-90 to 9.0 when?
9.0 T-90 Could be fun
OP is onto something but the comparison is skewed, the A1A1 is better than a 55AM-1 (whether it’s worth 0.3 BR better is another thing). I’d like to know why the T-62/Chieftain 3/5 is the same BR as the T-55AM-1 and why the TAM stayed 8.7 while the A1A1 went up.
The Br of those two tanks would be normal, since that Leopard model and that T-55 would be more or less from the same era, but the Leopard is superior except in armor (also not very important), and in the laser rangefinder.
A1A1 L/44 is 9.3…
lol
lmao even
you’re joking right?
well, yes it is true that the bullet is not a marvel, but the rangefinder is gold, (don’t forget the missile, that missile saves me a lot of problems), what it faces does not usually have much problem, leopards, marders , centurion, …it is when you play at 9.7 that you notice the bullet, but it is not at all strange, with the leopard a1 it happens the same, at 9.0 or lower it kills very well, when it touches +1 it no longer works the same… …if you then add that at more than a thousand meters you have the problem of the rangefinder…
Only because of the rangefinder I’ll stick with the t55am, but of course it’s my opinion (400 battles and more than a thousand deaths support me), for me they should leave it in that br, it’s fine for me.
You probably forgot to mention that all Leopard models are glasscannons, which can’t even survive if hit by most autocannons. Russian tanks have a well rounded armor which make them pretty much autocannon proof, in most cases even from the side.
There’s a reason why ppl suddenly start to spawn SPAAs and other light AC vehicles, as soon a s they realize they’re mainly against Leopards.
Agreed, the T-55s have great survivability against autocannons, missiles and HEATs. Sometimes you see in the kill feed how T-55s take your team apart. You never see the A1A1s do that. The A1A1s always get taken out into the side by something fast firing the moment they start advancing.
Plus, the T-55 can afford to shoot the A1A1 into silhouette, while the Leo player actually has to pause to think where this particular T-55 needs to be shot at.
These differences apply especially well when the T-55 or A1A1 face weaker enemies. The 7.7 line up can’t do jack to T-55s, while they can competently take A1A1 apart from 2 km away. Say Centurions - they really struggle with T-55s frontally, but easy-peazy with Leos.
Because it is a premium vehicle. The T-55AM-1 is at the same BR as the T-55M which makes no sense. The only real reason is because its premium, and its russian. It should be 0.3 BR higher considering its an upgrade to the T-55M. But here we are.
That’s the data I had on-hand last night.
That’s cool except APFSDS starts getting very common this BR making the armour tradeoff meaningless. Muh IFV is not an excuse.
Why?
wait you think the T-55AM should be 9.0?
Since the T-55M is 8.7 yes. The AM-1 is an upgrade with ATGMs.
ATGMs are a terrible option when you have APFSDS and the M has similar power to weight since there’s no dead weight armour
The Finnish T-55 also has laser/smoke and a vastly better APFSDS over the regular T-55 as well
We are not talking about the regular T-55. We are talking about the T-55M vs the T-55AM1. The AM1 is an upgrade and should go up 0.3.
I know, I’m referring to improvements over the regular T-55 as to why the M would be a higher BR similar to the AM-1.
Maybe we have a miscommunication.
Yes the T-55M should be higher than the T-55A. The T-55AM1 should be higher than the T-55M but since the AM1 is russian and premium it gets to sit lower than it should.
There is nothing wrong with the current BR of the AM-1, the T-55A and T-55AM-1 are sitting at the BRs they always should have been. There is not enough of a performance gap to justify a bump between the M and AM-1. There is far more of a problem with the BR of the Leo A1A1/Type 74 and co. with the last round of changes.
The T-55AM1 does not have “dead weight” armor. It has effective armor.
