Leopard 2A8

So, if we ever got the Leopard 2A8 which part of Germany’s tech tree would be on?

In the Leopard 2 production line, after the 2A7V.

Future Israeli export subtree - the Leopard 2A8 NOR Prototype.
Sweden - Leopard 2A8 NOR Production (ironically worse than the Prototype).
Germany - regular Leopard 2A8 (probably with the Israeli APS modification).

Israel wouldnt get one
One component doesnt give u tanks.

Sweden maybe, but as of right now norwegian is premium only.

Germany of course

France gets it trough netherlands

Israel basically built anything that’s not the gun, chasis and engine on the NOR Prototype

and the turret i guess is german as well, so basicaly israel did nothing noteworthy?
all main systems staying german, so no israel does not get it , it has no real part of it
and please show me what u mean with the Leopard 2A8 NOR in the first place
it doesnt even exist yet. the only isralian thing about it is the throphy system

it will be in Sweden and France

israel didnt build anything on the leopard 2A8 except the trophy and the trophy the leopard 2A8 uses its one modified and sold by rheinmetall as eurotrophy wich yeah still its an israel aps but that dosent make the tank israeli

They didn’t contribute to it in any way other than tech-sharing Trophy with Germany.

Fun fact: EuroTrophy is in fact built in Germany by a German led consortium.

As such:

Future Israeli export subtree - the Leopard 2A8 NOR Prototype. ← this thing doesn’t even exist, so do cease thinking stuff up
Sweden - Leopard 2A8 NOR [premium in like 10 years] (ironically worse than the Prototype).
Germany - Leopard 2A8 (probably with the Israeli APS modification).

FTFY.

seriously whats that even supposed to be?
pls dont post stuff like 2a7a1 now or in general the german prototypes
for the love of god dont embarras yourself

Thats so fascinating! I never knew that KMW/KNDS gave Israel a production licence.
Btw… You have a source for us to educate ourselves… right?

I assumed it was supposed to be Norwegian or something and making a basic search seems to indicate that, but that being said having any Nordic countries vehicles in any other country besides Sweeden make less than 0 sense because it is already destined to become a Nordic tree with Sweeden at the forefront of it. This is not to mention they already said a production model should go to Sweeden which begs the question of why the prototype even needs to be added to Isreal. Similar to what I stated earlier this year in relation to the 130mm testbed based on the Challenger 2 how while I don’t think it needs to be added that the vehicle should not have the right to go the nation it is from. The whole point I made back then was how if it were added it would go to Germany and not Britian as it uses a German turret with a German gun using a British hull as the base vehicle. In that I also mention to go by that logic Britian should not have the Vicker Mark 7 since it is the exact same thing in reverse with a British turret and gun with a German hull, yet no one argued against it.

Going by that same logic having a vehicle of another nation use something that originates from another nation as a justification to add such a vehicle to that other nation makes no sense even in comparison to the 130mm Challenger testbed as the Trophy APS is a system designed by Isreal and adopted by other, and to go by that line of logic is quite stupid because still using Isreal for example, should they therefore be allowed to get every single vehicle that uses the spike missiles even if the only thing that is Israeli is those missiles, or better yet how many nations vehicles should Germany get given they are using a German 120mm gun or licenses production of one or even the rounds the Germans made. Trying to argue that because it is using some form of Trophy is quite frankly stupid in every sense of the thought of it, because it is not that simple to why a vehicle is added to a particular nation, the closest thing to that is the ITO for France which Gaijin did not just for the fact the missiles are French but the main idea was to provide France with a competitive top AA for France as Gaijin did not need any other options, however like the reason why they added the F-16AJ it did not represent gaijin changing the rules but taking exceptions in very particular circumstances that require something out of the norm. Here we are talking about main battle tanks, and Isreal still has at least another Merkava Mark 4 variant on the cards in terms of what can be added so I don’t think they need to have such questionable additions as a Norwegian Leopard 2 added to a nation who has essentially no relation to that vehicle outside one aspect which alone is stretching the whole argument as to why it should happen.

Italy, Sweden and France will get it first, like all German tanks somehow end up with them.

Italy cancrlled 2a8s they getting kf51 variants
