Leopard 2A8: A Coveted Trophy

well, about that…

We can, nobody forbids you to use common sense. Here is another KNDS broshure, the weight is different, the speed is different. The report I linked extensively explainds why we can tell with 100% certainty that initial KNDS broshure uses copy paste data from wrong model. Mishaps happen even to big companies and manufacturers. It is Gaijins duty to double check such things, especially when playerbase literally provides it on the silver plate. Gaijin went full turtle shell with this one. Currently 2A8 in the game features wrong top speed, wrong weight, wrong gun limits, and dare I add - wrong armor value (ever since 2A7V).

Funny how they took info for that nerf from the report about 2A8 elevation change being wrong. They denied that report but took info provided in it to nerf 2A7V. Completely disregarding the fact that those were for 2A7 NO and 2A7+.
“You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may and will be used against you”
Bug Report Managers somehow keep destroying own and Gaijins reputation more and more and more each time, when you though it couldn’t go any lower.

No appropriate ammunition (the DM53 is good, but a tank like this wasn’t designed to use it), no gun depression, no machine gun, no LWS. What else are they going to take away from it?

It looks like they’re dealing with a monster, but it’s just a little kitten.

Just asking, what is the current weight on the dev server for the 2A8?

If this is how the 2A8 is going to be added, it would have been better not to add it at all. The tank still hasn’t arrived in the game, yet it has already been hit with so many nerfs—by the time it finally shows up, it’ll probably be firing an L55 gun from a go-kart.

So, it appears that the 2A7V will also have -7.4 [degrees of gun depression]. However, other Leopards and Strvs that use the L44 gun won’t have this, right? And why does the 2A6 have -9 [degrees]? Could someone help explain this? It’s a major nerf for Germany.
This situation raises two massive, logical questions for the development team:

  1. Are the current 2A7V and 2A7HU models incorrect?
If the -7.4° gun depression restriction is suddenly considered historically accurate for the 2A8 based on this specific driver sight layout, does that mean we have been playing with completely incorrectly modeled versions of the 2A7V and 2A7HU all these years? They share the exact same hull structure and forward optics arrangement. If this is a physical restriction, it must logically apply to them as well.
  2. How many other nations have incorrectly modeled vehicles due to selective data picking?
This inconsistency makes us question the integration of historical data across the board. Which other nations and top-tier vehicles are currently sitting in the live game with incorrect layouts or parameters because identical engineering designs are treated differently depending on the tech tree?
If Gaijin is going to enforce strict “historical accuracy” based on a single blueprint or brochure, this standard must be applied consistently across all nations and variants. Selectively applying a nerf to a brand-new German vehicle while ignoring the identical design layout of existing top-tier tanks is a clear double standard.

Apparently they changed the weight this morning, it is 66.6 currently, previously was 65.3 (the wrong broshure stated 64.3, gaijin simply added 1 ton of fuel/crew and ammo on top of it)

of what I know, the 2A8NO is heavier than that. A guy working on the tank stated in the offical podcast of the Norwegian armed forces that the new tank weighed just short of 68 tons.

Similar number of 68 tons have been said in an article about the mechanics working on them, but that is very much a secondary source.

67 tons was the weight shared by politican Frølich, who is the leader of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence in the Norwegian parliament.

If this is empty weight or service weight, or something else, I don’t know.

The fresher broshure supports the 68 tons.

Lmao .Before fixing any armor bugs in the Leopard 2A8 and Leopard 2A7, quickly nerf their angle. What exactly did Germany gain? Endless weakening?

If the -9 angle bug can be fixed within one day, then why don’t you fix the armor bugs that have been present for several years on those Leopards?

Based on this brochure 2a8 top speed should be at least 64km/h, not 60km/h currently in game, will gaijin change that?

also note how the newer brochure no longer list TROPHY as optional and has a picture of a actual A8(or any TROPHY Leo)unlike the old one.its almost like the other one uses outdated data from a different Tank.

Thats the spec. It is what it is guys.

Everyone knows that the specs sheet says that, but it’s incorrect, and has caused this whole mess.

OK what this

I haven’t seen one credible source which says otherwise.
A lot of people, which are talk a lot and draw linies in Microsoft Paint to verify their claim, when literally the manufacturer writes it on his website.
And i dont care if its old. It’s the best we have.

Get over it until they update their spec. It is what it is.
