Also about protection and survivability:
i never, EVER got oneshotted on Leopard. Thus the reasoning. You see how several first shots do nothing to crew compartment? And there is nothing harded for enemy to kill than Leopard. T-90 in the same situations would be dead second shot.

Surviving a penetration isn’t the same as being combat effective. Even if the 2A7V doesn’t get one-shot, turret basket damage often cripples the tank by disabling turret traverse, gun handling or crew effectiveness. In practice, that leaves the vehicle unable to fight and usually results in a follow-up kill within seconds. Calling that ‘better survivability’ is misleading because the tank is effectively out of the battle even if it’s technically still alive.
The Leopard 2A7V also needs its D-Tech armor package to be modeled more accurately. At the moment, its protection does not reflect the real vehicle. If Gaijin wants to keep the game as realistic as possible, the D-Tech armor should receive the appropriate protection improvements based on available evidence.
Thats what I also notice ingame. Its armor is not suffucient and the spall liner isn’t what it was on release. No defense vs missiles. Slow. Restricted turret traverse. Basket mechanic. Its just not a good tank.
Especially embarassing that the UFP is so easy to pen. Still.

100% while the Type 90 and especially Type 10 are my two favorite tanks in WT the Type 10 is heavily butchered in so many ways and ive given up on trying to get it fixed since gaijin is so horrible to work with
Well i dare you to watch the clips in a message before that. There are numerous shots that go undamaged at all, even with turret basket present. And even basket being hit not always the death sentence.
And this are three matches in a row that i played just because this topic made me feel like i have outdated info. Spoiler alert: it isnt outdated.
Having it modelled “properly” would turn it even more OP it is now, and that brings much balance concerns. And that doesn’t mean devs would make it as protected as you wish anyway.

You’re using gameplay survivability as evidence that the armor is correct, but those are not the same thing.
My concern is the armor model itself. If the Leopard 2A7V’s D-Tech package provides greater protection on the real vehicle than it currently does in-game, then the armor should be adjusted accordingly.
Whether the vehicle is already strong or weak in gameplay doesn’t determine whether its armor is represented accurately.

The amount of people showing 2A7 UFP as pennable frustrates me, they don’t do their homework on the tank they are complaining about.
In penable but like you’d never have it happen in a actual game lmao and that’s what people don’t get
Gaijin’s idea of balancing is poor, of course the 2A7V is underperforming. But the cherry on top for me is Sweden having the option of using 3 early 2000’s 2A5 with significantly more armor than the 2A7V which uses the D tech composite, compared to the C tech composite 2A5s operate with.
Either Gaijin fixes the 2A7V armor, reduce reload OR add more top tiers for Germany ground as German top tier is LACKLUSTER. Compared to other nations.
A PSO, 2A5 and 2A6 is not sufficient enough at top tier… extremely weak armor
