The leopard 2A7/HU in the is the most underperforming tank in the entire game. Its basically a fictional tank based on what gaijin thinks it should have. Gajijn refuses to ad D-tech in game for no reason and they make the most technologically advanced leopard every made have the worst turret armor in the game!
Do anyone really believe that the 2a7 has 400mm of effective armor on the left cheek? Its missing HUNDREDS of mm of armor all over the tanks package. Its armor package seems like a badly modeld 1991 leopard 2 IVT prototype. The armor package it has in game i essentially from the 1980’s when the tank is from 2020!
The 2A7V in game has up to 100mm worse of kinetic protection all around than the strv122 series tanks. Even doe the 2a7v should use D-Tech and the strv122 uses C-tech while it also shouldn’t. The 2a7v armor is even worse than C-tech! It basically uses the 2a4’s B-tech armor!!

(same happens on the other side too because there is a random hole (entire vertical-line basically) in the armour array, this issue does not happen on other Leopard 2A5/6 versions btw)

I do think it should be upgraded to better match its estimated real life performance but that should only come with a BR increase and better vehicles from other nations that are on par with it

Maybe so, but that’s misrepresentation, not underperformance tbh. Besides fundamentally what does it matter? With such vast improvements it would be at a higher BR, and top tier MBTs are basically fantasy in the game in my view.

The Leopard 2 is a pretty balanced tank, with decent mobility, the firepower of a NATO 120mm tank gun, and somewhat unreliable protection. I think the problem with the Leopard 2 lies in the fictional D armor. Gaijin really thinks D armor is like overpowered composite armor rather than just an overall armor layer, and the turret protection is handled the same way—Gaijin figures it should be like that instead of filling it out according to the actual data.
