KE-W is more than enough for 12.7
I will preface that I have not played it, but I have played nigh every top tier tank, and the Leos around it.
Honestly it is fine at 12.0. In downtiers it doesn’t really "oppress’ anything.
Its armor is lackluster for a Leopard, as the turret is rather weak to top tier rounds, but it can easily tank rounds in the 400mm area, even to the breach. The hull is of a 10.7 2A4, with the 2A7V’s “shatterplate”. The side comp is nice against autocannons. Overall the armor is just, ok.
The shell selection, while fine, is nothing special for the BR. 580mm of pen is standard for the BR. HE is cool and all but you only get 16 rounds of “safe” stowage (turret cheeks get cleaned by good shells into bustle ammo).
Gun handling, mobility, gun angles, depression, sights, reverse, reload, etc. are all good enough or great.
Overall its fine at 12.0. Directly above it is 2A5 and then the 2A7V at 12.7.
how is it overpowered when, at the same br, there’'s m1a1 hc’s and m1a2 with better armor, better mobility, better round, better reload speed with 2a4m advantage only better thermal

Apart from crew on expert or ace, the abrams can use a reload nerf no question that was Gajin appeasing the US community. The round doesn’t matter at BR 12 when you unlock any APFSDS the weak spots don’t need an ungoldy penetration to do damage. Mobility the abrams has but armor at top tier (except for Russia) is a last resort at minimum. The fact this leopard is a premium and has better overall capabilities than any other premium in other nations is insane for BR 12.
Personally would give it 11.7, where it would be a good strong vehicle. At 12.0 I find it pointless comparing other 12.0 + no line up
Ask gajin for a test drive, it feels like I’m playing top tier Sweden with better thermals. Armor feels okay, but for a premium this is by far the best top tier tank for grinding. Abrams is good after the learning curve but this leo is just great all around
You gotta make your rage bait less obvious, Clickbait sits at same BR with better shell, reload and arguably better armor.
Leopard 2PL with 2nd gen thermals and DM53 sits at 12.3 and 2A4M should be higher despite being worse?
and m1a1 hc “clickbait” is not premium tank? or are they, a tank that better in every way except thermal, worse than 2a4m?

They are not.
- Mobility? M1A2 >/= Leopard 2A4M
- Firepower? M1A2 > Leopard 2A4M
- Gun handling? M1A2 > Leopard 2A4M.
- Survivability? M1A2 > Leopard 2A4M.
- Armour? M1A2 > Leopard 2A4.
Keep in mind I’m using the M1A2 here, but it’s interchangeable with the British or American M1A1 AIM, the M1A1 HC or M1A1 Click-Bait.
The Leopard 2A4M at 12.7 would be quite laughable as it’s nowhere near as capable as a Strv 122, M1A2 SEP, SEP v3, Leopard 2A7V or 2A7HU.
KE-W is fairly average for 12.0.
Mobility is fine, but not outstanding.
The Leopard 2A6 has roughly equal mobility to an M1A2 Abrams, but the Leopard 2A4M is nearly 2 tons heavier than a 2A6, and that’s assuming it doesn’t equip any further modifications like the Slat armour or Mine plate.
6.4 seconds is now among the slow -ish reloads.
Only Russian, Swedish and Chinese MBT’s are equal or worse.
Armour is it’s biggest weakness.
The hull is awful, the turret cheeks can be penetrated by it’s own APFSDS at relatively decent ranges and the mantlet weakspot is quite large due to it still being a 2A4 underneath.
The Leopard 2A4M also does not get spall liners like the 2A5 and 2A6 do.

I was confused too many M1A1s now, there’s the M1A1 tree and then clickbait plus another m1a1 premium
This isn’t ragebait, but I agree with most people at this point it should be 12.3. The KE-W is more than enough. Apart from the clickbait, the shell is on par with the KE-W you get more pen but the difference for weakspots doesn’t mean much.
Its notjust pen difference, its also reload, ready rack size etc.
Beside, why would you play 2A4M when there would be 2PL at same BR?
It should be 12.3. The only reason it isn’t in the company doesn’t have a 12.3BR premium or event vehicle for ground at the moment. They weren’t willing to move the AGS up until decompression happened, even though it should have been done prior. I bet with decompression they will move it up like it deserves.
Reload was buffed cause people complained hard enough but even so the Aced crew vs non aced is 1 sec faster. Abrams at 12 can be the same reload for Leopard, but from a capabilities standpoint of firepower, thermals and commanders sight. The leopard wins by a large margin with just have gen 2 thermals on both gunners sight and commanders (The Abraham Lincoln at 12 has no gen 2 thermals or commanders and t80 only has gunners gen 2 and remedial commanders sight). As far as armor goes yes, one is better than the other but even from the gameplay standpoint KE-W is more than enough.

Even if the shell is better it doesn’t matter everything is aritifical at top tier and even M829 is good enough.
For a premium vehicle which is supposed to be worse than the tech tree the premium Leo is by far better and the best premium top tier I’ve used out of any tree for top tier. Simple because of an excellent shell and excellent thermals (gunners and commanders).
Gajins not going to do decompression for the simple fact, frustration creates profits. But I agree the leopard should be 12.3 minimum due the the armor cheeks not being on par for 12.7.
Fair. I do think they will probably decompress a bit more at some point… it was 12.0BR max in GRB before the last decompression. .
