We’re pleased to introduce another Legend of Victory event! Tank #445 bearing the inscription “Suvorov” was a part of the 508th Separate Flamethrower Tank Battalion. Get this tank, its inscriptions as decals, and the FOG-2 flamethrower as a decoration in a new event commemorating the anniversary of the Allied Victory!

From May 6th (11:00 GMT) until May 18th (11:00 GMT), earn mission points in Ground Battles, unlock stages and receive rewards!

KV-8

A Premium Heavy Tank for the USSR at Rank II

Development of a flamethrower variant of the KV heavy tank began in 1941. Initially, the flamethrower was intended to be mounted in the hull. However, a twin turret mount was later developed to house a cannon, flamethrower, and machine gun. In January 1942, the KV-8 tank passed trials and entered serial production; by the end of the year, over 100 vehicles had been built. In War Thunder, the new KV-8 is premium heavy tank with a flamethrower and a rapid-fire 45 mm cannon. The tank’s main advantage will be its high level of protection, ensuring good survivability under fire from guns of various calibers. This is especially important for a tank designed for close combat, as the flamethrower and relatively weak 45 mm cannon require close combat to be effective.

Among the rewards in the event is also this chest. When opened, there is a chance to receive one of the following items:

  • 50,000 - 100,000 Silver Lions
  • Silver Lion and Research Point boosters
  • Random Wagers and Orders
  • Universal Backups (1 - 3)
  • A random camouflage for a vehicle you own
  • 1 day of Premium Account

How to get all rewards

Each stage can be completed for 30,000 mission points, where every new stage obtained will give you a new reward.

Please note: After finishing a stage, you need to collect the reward manually. To do this, click on your name in-game, go to “Legend of Victory: KV-8” and click the “Get Reward” button.

You’re able to earn mission points in Ground Battles at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the task description in-game.

You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat card.

Stages change every two days at 11:00 GMT on May 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th.

Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages

  • For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
  • For 2 Stages: one of the decal rewards
  • For 3 Stages: trophy with a random reward
  • For 4 Stages: one of the decal rewards
  • For 5 Stages: “FOG-2” tank decoration
  • For 6 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the KV-8

Discounts for purchasing stages using Golden Eagles

Unfinished stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but if you’re significantly close to completing a stage, its price will be significantly reduced as well.

Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve scored 26,000 mission points, then the price for unlocking this stage will be 299 Golden Eagles. If you’ve scored 29,000 mission points, then you’ll only need 119 Golden Eagles. Keep this in mind if you’re not able to complete a stage in time!

The Upgrade for a coupon

When you complete 6 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the KV-8, where using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event from May 6th (11:00 GMT) until May 18th (11:00 GMT) for 500,000 mission points.

After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after 6 days from the moment it’s created.

To make a tradable coupon, select the “Coupon KV-8” (USSR)” in your inventory and click the “Modify” button.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid until May 22nd(11:00 GMT). Until this time, you can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.

Tracking your progress

You can track the progress of the stages and the “Upgrade for coupon” item by clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Legend of Victory: KV-8. If you don’t manage to complete a stage in time or would like to purchase a stage, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles until May 22nd from the Achievements window, which will give you the corresponding rewards.

Should be quite fun! Challenging to use, but I’m happy we’re getting something interesting for once. Keep it up!

A great vehicle, but don’t you think that there have been too many events for russia?

Seems like a nice reward, just so over Russian event rewards. And I’m very concerned this will be at some busted OP BR because it’s an up armoured KV-1 with a smaller gun, and because it’s Russian. And we all know how Russian vehicles are treated in this game.

I like it, but this cannot be balanced easily, this will be either overbr’d cause of it’s armament or underbr’d cause of it’s armor.

Hiya. I did some quick searching to find out what the FOG flamethrowers were. But doesn’t it seem that it should be called the FOG-1 instead of FOG-2?

<3.7, as it is going to be rank 2. The KV-1 L-11 is at 3.7.

Is the history of Europe and America different from that of Asia. Didn’t Asia participate in the history of World War II in country? Why are there no Asian activities in World War II?
