Hey, i think i can remember that beam riding missiles do not give a laser warning, but it seems they do now.
I tested in a custom and following missiles we tested all gave a warning:
Vhikhir
Ataka
stormer hvm
barrel fired atgms
bmp atgms
did they always give a laser warning and i am miss remembering or is this new?

if anything use laser as guidence it will provoke laser warning

it depends how they (users of Shkval targeting complex) use laser, because it has laser beam guidence (which goes to missile) or also laser rangefinder which can triger LWS

i can’t explain it much because i haven’t played them or researched this theme

yes but it says beam riding not laser

A laser seeker looks at what the laser is pointing at
a Beam rider follows the laser like a guide wire.
Both result in a laser being pointed at the target.

It has been inconsistantly buggy I think.
There have been periods of time where certain lasers dont, but its considered buggy behaviour and not intended behaviour
Not all lasers should trigger LWS, but Gaijin doesnt model low power lasers.

There was a bug report that said that beam rider lasers weren’t strong enough to trigger the LWS. I would have to go look for it
