They were not, they were undertiered and fairly OP. Penning tanks wasn’t a major issue and you only struggled against some M4s and heavy tanks. Only the Germans and TDs could reliably pen the Kv-1E/B, but they were almost always easy kills for the KV.
Blame BR compression for that
Painting anyone taking issues with the games balance as “whiners” is not a good thing to do.

Sounds like someones upset they can’t seal-club at low tiers with them as easily anymore
They could go up to 4.7 and still be pretty much fine

It was fully deserved.
“But Panthers” Dude i played the thing back when i was a relatively new player (account was only 1 year old at the time of getting it) the Jumbo was 5.0 and the US had a full lineup at 4.7 and i still managed to get a 4.2 KD in the thing, It was so brain dead easy to play.
Since 2019 i have refused to touch it again because it unironically makes you a worse player by making the game too easy.
Even with it being 4.3 now it still can’t face the Jumbo and many other tanks that used to be lower like it used to.
Angle it like how you angle Tigers and its nearly invincible to most of the guns it faces.
Reloading? Repairing the gun? Turn the turret away and use the turrets side armor.
Or just don’t rely on it in a full uptier, Like what you should do for every other heavy tank.

The KV-1B/E have more armor than their 4.7 counterparts alongside having 25mm plates on the side which give them 105mm armor protecting the crew lol.

Same way that Yak-9K should be at battle rating 4.0, which in my opinion is doing terribely at that much high, close air support is to hard nowadays.

Anything that could pen the KV1s could be penned by the KV1s with a higher chance and a better chance at killing. They were not balanced for 4.0. The church III sits at 4.0 and is universally worse.

No, no they were not fine at 4.0BR. Those two absolutely slaughtered damn near everything with impunity and were extremely difficult to take out. Pretty much required coordinated team effort and CAS just to take out one tank and if there was a whole squad of them, God help you because your team was essentially lambs to the slaughter.
Even at 4.3 they are still very strong. They’re just now at a BR where you can’t just braindead facetank 90% of what a team can throw at you.

The only ones that think the KV1-E/B are OP are the new players or trash players.
yes, it is good, mostly in a full more almost full Down tier, (or was) , but literally all you have to do… is shoot either its track or barrel… then shoot it in the side… Just because morons dont know how to play and engage it when its angled and they are in a bad potion, doesnt negate the fact that it was fine at 4.0
If your response is just a hard insult, then I dont see a reason for the thread to be up. Besides, it has the wrong tags anyway
