Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

u are aware u can do that right?

looks cool, hope JH7A will get some camo too

I bet it’s a placeholder. They have Spey’s in the game already. F-111A got it’s engines updated today.

you can already do that, and you can even do the pendulum maneuver in a F14B by that

I can only see that you can throttle one engine at a time without switching to the other

split throttle is controlling both engines seperatly

Like if you were flying with a flight stick with two throttles, that you can switch them booth at the same time without switching engine

yes baby!😆

If you look it up, it compares incredibly closely to the Tornado IDS.

How do you do that? i am not sure how to if it is diffrent from switching between one to the other engine

that u gotta google, i know of its existence, but i am no master pilot that can use it

oof, il look it upp then

and here’s the data

JH7A

Wing mounting weight (from left to right)

100KG 300KG 1200KG 1650KG 200KG 1200KG 200KG 1650KG 200KG 1200KG 300KG 100KG

Wing mounting

1400L auxiliary fuel tank X3, mounted at three 1200KG mounting points

PL5B x4 can be installed on two 100KG mounting points and two 300KG mounting points respectively

PL8B X2 can be installed on two 300KG suspension points

The 250KG high-explosive missile X22. can be loaded with 1 pieces at two 300KG mounting points, 4 pieces at two 1200KG mounting points, and 6 pieces at two 1650KG mounting points.

500KG high explosive missile X8, 2 1200KG suspension points and 2 1650 suspension points respectively

90-1 rocket X4, rocket nest mounted on 1200KG and 1650KG mounting points respectively

Small photoelectric/radar indicating pods can be mounted on two 200KG mounting points on the aircraft’s abdomen. And there is no conflict with each other.

Two large electronic support pods can be mounted separately on two 1650KG mounting points

Two small electronic support self-defense pods can be mounted separately on two 300KG mounting points

The YJ-83 anti-ship missile X4. can be mounted on two 1200KG mounting points and two 1650KG mounting points respectively. (Missile has a range of 10-50 kilometers, a level flight altitude of 20-30 meters, and a level flight speed of 0.9 Mach)

The YJ-91 anti radar/anti ship missile X4 can be mounted at two 1200KG mounting points and two 1650KG mounting points respectively. (The range can be increased to 120 kilometers, and the sea skimming flight altitude during the cruise phase is maintained at around 20 meters. In the attack phase, the flight altitude drops to about 7 meters above the sea surface, with a minimum of even 1.2 meters.)

The AKD-88 air-to-ground missile X4 can be mounted at two 1200KG mounting points and two 1650KG mounting points respectively (with a range of 180 kilometers, active/semi-active radar guidance heads)

500KG laser/satellite guided bomb X4, can be mounted at two 1200KG mounting points and two 1650KG mounting points respectively

1000KG laser/satellite guided bomb X4, can be mounted at two 1200KG mounting points and two 1650KG mounting points respectively

Weird. Tornado IDS? This looks far more fightery than Tornado but maybe i’m wrong?

The EJ Kai might not be on par, but the Yak-141, Mirage 2k and Tornado F.3/ADV (not sure about the Viggen and J-8F, they seem capable, but I never see them being used) definitely are close enough to the first batch of MiG-29s and F-16s we got
The Phantoms, MiG-21s and 23s are not really competitive with them tho and that is a problem caused by the compression, which gaijin seems unwilling to address

Still, the current top tier has way more variety than a fifth gen top tier could ever offer
(and tbh, I don’t see fifth gen fighter gameplay being any fun with their complete focus on BVR)

@Smin1080p Sorry for pinging you m8 but I really enjoyed the Dev server Q&A last time,
Will there be one this time ? I appreciate the answers and reasonings these bring.

im sure it’s better than Tornado IDS cause the more modern weapon make it can kill ground target easier

I wonder, does anyone know if the Mi-8 AMTSh has auto tracking capability for it’s ATGMs IRL?

From what I can tell the JH-7 is a true fighter-bomber, while the Tornado IDS is a combination of a strike and interceptor aircraft. So naturally the JH-7 would be way more capable in a setting like War Thunder
