Aye, but what i’m saying is it was launched to WT initially with an impressive ERA package, but was nerfed continually until the 2F and TES armor packages were the exact same stats.
It makes zero sense and if nothing else, is just more of a grind for the same tank, but heavier.
Its nuts.
CR2 does recieve artificial nerfs, huge mistakes that keep it terrible, and goes neglected by the devs (probably because of the documents situation…)
It is artificial when it does not take into account basic reason. The concept that the challenger 2 cannot reliably survive the shell it was built to survive (3BM46), or the ERA package specifically added to counter RPG-29s cannot counter RPG-29s is beyond ridiculous.
Except you can go back and view the bug reports on the TES, whereby someone (incorrectly) tried to get the TES’ armor to become STANAG 6 and be Armor Shield R from Rafael (this armor was never mounted on TES and is a massive myth), Gaijin looked at the report, said “doesnt seem right” and “corrected” TES from a decent guess at ASPRO-HMTs armor values, to complete nonsense. 400CE? The numbers came out of nowhere with no basis or reasoning. They gave it a generic ERA name, and gave it 30mm KE.
That last part is important as the 30mm KE is talked about alot with TES. STANAG level 6 requires the ability to defeat 30mm apfsds at 500m. Problem is, ASPROHMT isn’t stanag 6, that’s Armor Shield R. So Gaijin had read Armor Shield Rs brochure, saw the 30mm claim, and applied the 30mm KE protection thinking “protection from 30mm” meant “can protect up to 30mm” based on an ERA package that was never put on TES in the first place.
Its sloppy research and the reasoning for the 400 CE has never been explained, despite the contrary evidence presented.
CR2 TES especially is a massive victim of artificial nerfs by Gaijin.
CR2 is just overall horribly misrepresented
CR2F also is horribly represented
And overall, the whole thing is a mess.
Have a gander at my topics if you’d like to see the full breakdown and sources.
@Smin1080p I will ask again: Will Israel receive Spike missiles this update? like for real,is there even a single reason why they have not been given to Israel yet?
The Spey should have more thrust across the board. The key issue with the Spey-equipped phantoms was the intakes - the larger intakes would result in extremely high drag when supersonic (think harrier, but not quite as bad)
On another note, Swedish heli tree is a little scuffed with the AHS, it was never in service, but I do believe it was considered, and then they went with supersonic CAS like the Jakt-Viggen. I would really love to see a Finnish part of the helicopter tree. They operated the Mi-4AV, the Mi-8, and a few other Russian helicopters they operated, also heard of a Blackhawk coming.
Actually, I don’t think that’s right (I’m totally speaking from my limited knowledge, not an expert). Even something as different as the fan is going to entirely change performance. An entirely different (I’m sure similar) engine I would assume would require a different placement/dimensions of the ramps. My guess is the Spey engines really aren’t as well tuned for the plane (I’m sure in some austere band they’re way better), I have zero clue on the specifics however.
Not baiting, what are the BR’s? It’s been well established that Gaijin changes things, and deploys them in game, basically for the sake of “gameplay balance”. Maybe the armor was too good being closer to it’s historical value, so they brought the stats down?
The first 3 challenger 2s are 11.3 with the TES being the third (now 2 and 3 are foldered behind the first)
the FInally 2 Challenger 2s are 11.7 (with 1 foldered behind the first)
(Thank god they are now foldered, it was a brutal grind prospect for what is essentially 5 identical tanks, but each one had a “thing” to make it unique to the others)
Its possible they nerfed it for the sake of balance, but then why not just make it an 11.7? I think the ERA would be akin to the T-80BVM at the moment.
Though as a general rule of thumb, I think all 5 CR2s have armour related issues and are generally underperforming compared to available real world information. Among many many other issues. Even ones as simple as incorrect crew positions. (they sit too high in the tank)
The general rule of thumb on the Spey phantoms is that they will have superior thrust across the board because they are larger engines. The spey phantoms, however, have noticeably larger intakes which prevented them from passing Mach 1.9, and caused significantly higher supersonic drag.
I should’ve taken more photos, but an old capsule from an EF-111F out of Mountain Home can be found at the Nampa Warhawk Museum, if anyone is interested. I’ll see if I can find the one I took. This is very cool however!
AFAIK you’ll have to redo your controls. Might be worth to see if there is an export button for your controls in the settings where you also save them. If it isn’t there then I’m like 95% sure you’ll need to redo them.
