Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

I think we’ll probably see AIM-120A come to the game in the next update. R-77 would be AIM-120C, which is perhaps too much for right now, so we might see East using R-27ERs versus AIM-120s, though I doubt it. It’ll definitely be hard to balance for Gaijin though. Or perhaps only select vehicles will recieve the big update to their weaponry

Gripen C is the main export variant, so any nation that has it would be Gripen C not Gripen A.

Whatever the case may be, the end of year update is going to be crazy

I just hope its good for all nations not the usual 2 or 3

Watch it be just a regular update with a couple of planes, tanks, but loads of naval stuff

Given Smin hinted that nations that didn’t get something great this update would naturally get somthing next update, I think the end of year update will focus on us minor nations

Im still expecting F-15s and Su-27/30s this december, Probably both with ARH. But fingers crossed they remember that there is 10 nations in game currently and not 2

I think Gaijin will give Gripen skyflashes for balance and 9Ls

heheheheh lol

I couldn’t help it

just checked, jup i was right , was titled not a bug, they declined the suggestion because it is a balancing decision just like with the stingers

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/dyzNXkxIzHYp

for stingers it was due to them finding an igla manual if I recall

Wait, stingers are stuck at 10g vs 22g because of balancing decision?

Considering the current IR missiles are 9Ms and R73s, maybe Sweden gets 9Ms if they ever even operated those?

Honestly with Gripen C, there’s not alot of loadouts it can carry that isn’t REALLY advanced.

They need to add Aim-9L/I as a matter of Priority. Im not sure about 9Ms, but they definetly ran L/I, would be the same for Germany and would be the more accurate option for the F3

iglas have nothing to do with stingers and mistrals @Morvran yeah their is open acknowledged reports on both stingers and mistrals, it is a balancing decision

Great. So any hope of actually having usable IR missiles on helis is dashed then.

I mean, would it really be that hard to imagine them
a) backtracking and adding the Gripen A instead
b) giving the Gripen C only IR missiles like they did with the Netz
or
c) giving the Gripen C fantasy loadouts with Skyflashes like they did with the F-16C and Barak II?

considering they are marked as acknowledged instead of not a bug, it is not a balancing issue just them refusing to make stingers and mistrals actually worth using, also seems that the mistral may be getting a buff to a possible 25G from a report I saw that was acknowledged recently
Edit: This was on topic at the time and it was also talking about a bug report that was acknowledged

it is more an reason because of the manpads like ozelot, they dont want their BR to be raised further, heli ir missles being effected is just a sad side effect

new optical tracking mode on IR SAMs for Helis probably fixes this.
