The shear amount of heartbreak I felt seeing the trailer, and for a brief moment, misidentifying in the thumbnail, the C-17s tail as an Avro Vulcan.
Realising its not, and its a tail - getting excited it might be a Handley Page Victor
Not under a different name just as the Paladin, I personally don’t want it tbh, there’s other indigenous design’s that could be added instead (the abbot, a 105, and the AS-90, a 155 system)
Probably an F-111A, as per the 1974 SAC the only relevant armament is 24x( MER by 4) M117E1 750lb, [4958.88]kg total HE) and a rear quadrant IR MAWS (AN/AAR-34), it is otherwise completely unarmed.
going by the 1990 SAC it is reduced to 16x M117, 20x Mk82 500lb or 4x Mk. 84 and their high / low drag & airdropped mine counterparts.
It still has no Cannon, A2A or (non nuclear) A2G missile armament. I don’t know where the AGM-12 armament came from that was shown off in the trailers.
The only other thing of note is that it could additionally carry various Cluster bombs (SUU-30 & CBU-99/-100 derivatives) on said MER stations.
All in all, going by the documentation it’s a completely unarmed F-105 that accelerates faster. and will paly similarly to the B-57A (an RP piñata that poses absolutely no threat) at a much higher BR. so unless it gets ECM modeled (it only carries an internal AN/ALQ-137 ECM set)it’s going to be facing missiles that will hunt it down with absolutely no way to do anything unless they go for guns.
Considering that the F-105 is almost in the same boat and somehow manages to sit a 10.7, I would expect it to turn up somewhere between 11.0 and 11.3 so it will likely be seeing the R-27ERs and AIM-54s, the only other thing would be the A2G radar being modeled, but that impacts practically all US Strike aircraft between 8.7 through 11.7 at this point.
A6 prob not a premium and A4 prob not a swuad vehicle. All three are kinda strike aircraft and US has quite some premium strike aircraft already so if I had to guess TT F111 and A4 with squad A6.
Last one was delivered in 1979 and served though 1985 so the AIM-9L / -9M are options. but for in game purposes 4x AIM-9G/H is likely, also the cannons go from 100RPG to 200 so ammo count is doubled.
There is also the GPU-2/A, which is an M197 20mm with 300 rounds.
Note the Sidewinders on the outer-wing station of the A-4 at 0:24 in the video.
