The only missing thing they have is top tier SPAA which Gaijin said they’re working on and we know there’s a few candidates. Once that’s sorted, the tree is pretty complete and still has vehicles that could be added over time.
the literally have a literal gap between 9.7 and 11.7
Because there are not many vehicle left for Japanese ground force

War Thunder being as, and sometimes more, realistic than DCS
This is not even remotely close to true, DCS is far closer to real life even if its missing some systems we have on our aircraft and some flight model data that simply can’t be recreated.
Ground & air augmentation.
F-16AJ can get replaced as well, R2Y2s can finally be replaced.
Far more CAS potential for air as well.
& unique ground vehicles.

Gaps are fine so long as the RANK has a viable BR.
The issue comes when rank 8 is introduced and rank 7 has nothing cause all the Leclercs are in rank 8.

Yes, DCS & War Thunder will miss systems & flight model data, that doesn’t mean they’re not realistic.
War Thunder had supercruise years before DCS [DCS got supercruising this year].
War Thunder had accurate landing physics years before DCS.
F-16C in both WT & DCS handle identically.
A-10A in both WT & DCS handle identically.

Speaking from real life, WT is not close at all. DCS presents a much closer simulation to how our aircraft handle and how our systems work. I play WT for the more arcade feel of it, even Sim doesn’t compare. But we can continue this conversation in DMs.

I really hope they’ll start considering doing something about the extreme compression at the top if they keep up the pace. I’d like to be able to keep flying Phantoms n stuff without having to eat AMRAAMs all day

Isn’t that fine? Why add vehicles from other nations into Japan when you can just go play that nation?
I can understand if there’s like a critical gap that cannot be filled, but in the case of Japan, the only thing that comes to mind is the aforementioned SPAA issue which might be resolved anyway.
Hold on there, the last stance on this was the AJ would not be removed.
I think they could have done it earlier and people would have adapted as usual. However, what better way to rake in money than put two iconic fighters in the update before holidays where people are loaded with cash ready to spend lol.
I do think they’ll eventually decompress but right now the compression is kind of intentional. The new additions need cannon fodder to wipe out so that you an feel the natural progression into a better vehicle.

Sure, more nations are gonna come eventually, but that announcement seemed a lot more like a way of saying “hey, we didnt forget you guys”
Even if it has been almost two years since the last completely new tech tree got added, right now isn’t the time for a new one
Dunno if the british tank tree looked different when they added the SA subtree, but I am pretty sure the reasoning was along the lines of “the tech tree could defnitely use some more variety”

That’s why I clarified that Gaijin does not consider subtrees as Nations…
And they said that more nations will come.
Benelux will be just called the Netherlands but with a Belgium sub tree
