bruh that’s not a humber hornet
I really wish the 10.0 gap would be filled in the bomer line by Avro Vulcan. It’d be great I think. You’d be as fast as Buccaneer, able to go higher alts, and carry an insane 3 base bombload, CCIP, and over 1000 flares. You’d be a monster for bombers
Could even be Vulcan S2B for Shrikes, TV guided missiles and AIM9Gs lmao
I’d love to see more jet bombers and strategic bombers, but as it stands, that isn’t really a gap, that is for all intents of purposes the end of the of the bomber lines. Gaijin just thought it would fit to put the tornado gr1 at the end of that
edit: and the mig 27 for the USSR
Ultimately, it’s partially responsible for a greater adoption of the Sukhoi based designs, as it underwhelmed the PLA in performance metrics. I had a source for this but cannot find it at the moment.
But it’s entirely a domestic design which is important for developing an arms industry. The later upgrades have made it serviceable after things like a new glass cockpit, HUD, and J-10 FCS.
And if you use that comparison tool, the IDS and the JH-7 are basically the same plane in terms of how they’d perform in game, assuming the correct or near-correct modelling.
The V force is a massive part of RAF history, so it makes no sense to leave it out.
They’d be only slightly better than Buccaneer, but be majorly iconic.
Plus you’ve got shit like the Yak-28B, MIG-23BN, F-105D, Vautour, all are 9.0 - 10.0 bombers.
I think the whole V-Force line could be foldered neatly at 9.7 or 10.0
That’s horsecrap. Relikt is designed to cascade NERA elements down across penetrators, and the chemical protection of even Kontakt-5 has been vindicated.
No tank is immune to damage. Western countries still don’t have an analog to Relikt, and the closest thing out there is the Merkava, which, if you haven’t been paying attention lately, is being blown up by ATGM’s the same as literally any other tank in the world.
ERA and NERA modelling in game is flawed, so don’t base your expectations on that either.
Again, I am not against their addition, there just isn’t really a gap, the fighter-bombers/bomb-focussed attackers just aren’t in that line for most nations.
If anything the fact that some tech trees dont have their main bomber line filled with strike aircraft could be an indication that strategic bombers were planned, but became low prio very quickly
damn I really need to see a Harrier up close too
I met the 3 german domestic Jump jet prototypes in person so the only successful Jump Jet is the only thing missing
In the museum.
I wonder if gaijin would have rushed into 4th gen fighters even if Top Gun: Maverick hadn’t come out
Absolutely.
Lot of us are waiting for gen 4s and don’t want to play DCS or other games of that nature for it. The game is very accessible and strikes a good balance between realism and gameplay. The combination of combined arms also makes the gameplay appealing.
War Thunder being as, and sometimes more, realistic than DCS while being far more accessible is why I play it more than DCS.
I mean, sure there were/are lots of people waiting for gen 4s, but just scrolling through the updates it feels a very much like the addition of the Tomcat basically forced them to enter gen 4s while they were still polishing the tech that gen 3 brought in
Considering that we may soon see a new nation:
-
Gaijin considers that there are currently 10 nations, which means that subtrees are not considered nations.
-
He Then he says that he doesn’t intend to stop at 10, which means they will add more nations.
Given this, I wonder what “autonomous” nations Gaijin has in mind.
In my opinion, there are not too many nations left, with current parameters, that can be autonomous, without being combined trees (examples: Eastern Europe, Latin America, Benelux)
Most nations that may have a % of unique vehicles fit better as subtrees. We could even see 2 or 3 national subtrees in each nation we already have in the game.
I think the game can’t grow much more in its current format, we are reaching the top of the existing TTs. What we will see in the future will be a horizontal expansion: more nations and more game mechanics that allow vehicles to be more individualized, to mitigate the C&P effect.
The question again is: What do you think would be all those nations (that are not subTT) that Gaijin plans to implement as autonomous TT’s. I can’t think of many options other than:
Poland
India
Korea (north and south)
Türkiye
Spain (Quite questionable, but they have L2E and EF)
It is difficult for me to think beyond these Nations, especially taking into account the solvency at the top level.
In the case of:
Argentina
Brazil
Swiss
Netherlands
Belgium
Thailand
Just like the Czechoslovakian and Yugoslavian vehicles, they could only be very good subtrees. Unless gaijin breaks the current logic and we see regional TTs.
Benelux seems like the most probable tech tree
Korea is likely the least probable.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up on a completely new tech tree, sub-trees are what’s actually needed right now
