Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

They need to add ‘Vehicle was intended for armament’ to the list because the BAe EAP fits the bill with even the weapons mockups having labels.

Yeah, that would be nice

Even if they added that, the EAP would most likely still not get added, at least not until we actually get to the Typhoon and similar late 4.5th gen jets

EAP could be added now, thats why its so infuriating that it isnt. The weapons are dogshit minus the ASRAAM. And you’d only get 6. My point is that the EAP fits the ‘prototype’ bill as the labels and weights constitute proposed armament which did exist. The only barrier is that it was never intended for armament. (But the MFD being officially made with an “assault MFD” option doesn’t count)

I think the AJ was added for mavericks honestly. If not for the AJ, Japan would not get standoff weaponry for ground battles until the F-2 Late or if they decided to implement the P-1 which has other considerations as well.

Also maybe it’s looking into it too much, but the AJ devblog mentioned:

To me the “wait for the Viper Zero a few major updates” tells me it’s in the works, but it could also be reading too much into it. With the introduction of the F-16C, it seems closer to reality, especially since the F-2 was based off the Block 40 F-16C.

For GOD’S SAKE

This thread has now become a damn Eurofighter spam wishlist for the last few days…

I am trying to check the comments from the last few hours, but all I keep coming across is people asking for Eurofighter Typhoon “for balance, to counter F-16s and MiG-29s”, even after Smin’s repeated denials, and I wonder… are those who ask for Eurofighter aware that we are talking about a plane capable of fighting toe-to-toe against F-22s and coming on top even with ease?

I understand that some players want newer and more capable options against the strongest planes currently in the game, but… is this the best solution some can come up with?

Complain about a plane being too strong for the game (F-16C, MiG-29s)… only to then proceed to ask for a plane that is several orders of magnitude stronger than even the already strongest ones?

This isn’t solving a balance issue; it’s just shifting it from one place to another.

Pre-production Typhoons are very different from production Typhoons.

I mean, it doesn’t help that gaijin seems to rush deeper and deeper into 4th gen at an alarming rate with the US being at around 1991 with the F-16C and russia at 1998 with the MiG-29SMT
The Gripen being planned to come out by the end of this year and AMRAAMs being mentioned to come out in the future I can’t blame people for expecting to get a more modern plane for italy, britain and germany

It doesn’t help that the default response as to why britain and germany aren’t getting any new jets in the recent updates is “Well, duh, they didn’t build anything until the Typhoon”, when there still are plenty of jets that could be added, even though they might end up not being top tier

These criterea are for suggestions, Gaijin can add whatever they want.

@SPANISH_AVENGER bit late, but what are your thoughts on the Exocet DD leaks and the naval VLS missile in the files ? I’m surprised you haven’t commented on them yet, or maybe I just missed that post

@Morvran Jesus m8 your above 100 comments away from me and around 80 from 900 lol

I think if some kind of subtree will come to Japan with an equivalent of this plane, then it would be ok to hide it.

Muhaha

Only 2 nations actually need a new top tier aircraft. Both have been confirmed to be recieving said aircraft. Few aircraft fit the bill. Typhoon is one of them.

Anything else is probably a downgrade to the current set of aircraft that have been added.

May I ask how, in a nutshell?

(Genuinely asking, I am not too well versed on that Pre-production Eurofighter some people are referring to xD)

Big one is they had different engines

"Initially equipped with RB199 MK104E engines generating xlb of thrust with full reheat. This somewhat limited flight performance but sadly the more powerful EJ200 engines were not ready for initial testing, therefore placeholder MK104E’s were used. " - Typhoon thread

Typhoon is a F-22 counterpart. If anything, maybe one of those pre-production variants some people talk about and which I am not too familiar with. But expecting production Typhoons at this point is crazy!

Gripen has been confirmed, and South Africa has those, so maybe U.K gets that, given the British tech tree is linked to South Africa to a large degree.

Worse engines, different flight model (I don’t know how different or what exactly is different), worse weaponry (even early production models like the Tranche 1 block 2 only had things like AIM-9L/i’s and early AMRAAMs), and a handful of other things which are either very minor, wouldn’t have any real effect on the game, or I’ve forgotten about.

Honest question
Would Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 1 Block 2 be OP in current meta?
EDIT: Keeping in mind that ARH missiles might be coming sooner rather than later

Because of the flight model and engines, yes, however pre-production models with the worse engines would not be, I reckon.
