Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

Going out on a whim - SAAF Gripen because its less effort to do an extra aircraft than just copy paste to UK

Would be their MO

oh no, lets give britain the german mig 29 treatment lol. Sweden gets the Grippen this update, and britain gets a slightly altered version one update after.

Do you guys already feel the pain?

We’ve felt it since around 2021 when we were waiting for something other Than the FGR2. (that didnt arrive until end of 2022 in the form of the Gr7)

So what is the difference between the Grpien and the Typhoon ?

Honestly can’t wait to see that green diamond icon for Britians new premier top tier strike fig- I mean dog fighter

Imagine the thing we get is just the Avro Arrow ;D

A little slower, 6-8 hard points vs Typhoons 10-12. and thats about it I think. I think they wouldnt be that far off each other. If it was a Soviet or US jet, it would probably be on the table.

Gripen is 20 degree per second systained Turn

Typhoon F2 is 23. Though with a greater initial turn

Looks like Gripen has lower TWR as well. But Typhoon has about eequal to Mig-29 though

Ah thank you,

So this is what I don’t get they said the Gripen is confirmed not only confirmed but confirmed for this year,
but yet also denying the Typhoon because it’s too advanced even though they are pretty much as balanced as you can be.

I smell something fishy here, ether Smin is not telling the whole story here. Or it’s yet again another stab at Britain because gaijin seems to have a hate policy for Britain.

Gripen C was already confirmed for this year, and it’s the leading proposition for a new aircraft for the British tech tree as well.

I’ve told @Morvran this a few times as well, but he seems adamant on not putting their aircraft in his proposals.
& AIM-9Ms wouldn’t be placeholders, as Gripen C is capable of using them.

F-15 [pre-2000s], Su-27, and J-10 are all inferior to Eurofighter Typhoon.
And Mig-31 is rather inferior to all of them.
So no, they’re not off the table.

what are you talking about
gaijin loves britain
don’t you remember all those British ground vehicles the past 2 updates

their excuse propably is stuff like radar

What is ground ? :P

Comparing the 2, Typhoon is undoubtably the better airframe, but thats just based of what I can find in a quick oogle for the Full Typhoon F2.

Typhoon DA2 with the Tornado F3 engines would not be quite as good, Limit AAMs and give it an appropriate BR and job done.

But yeah, Typhoon is only “too OP” because it would be better than the current US/USSR jets and that is against the ToS. Not that its wildly too OP For the game right now At least thats my take. For the same reason we got Torando F3 this year, instead of last year, because it might have actually given the Mig-23MLD a run for its money and that would be unfair

Also worth noting:

  • Gripen - light multirole fighter
  • Typhoon - heavy / air superiority fighter

If Typhoon is off the table completely, F-15, Su-27, J-10 are all also off the table. Full stop.Gripen C would be a stupid addition for Britain. Full stop and barely that much worse than the Typhoon.

That takes Sea harrier Fa2 off the table too. Blue Vixen would outclass all in game right now by a mile

Depending on the J10 variant, a j10A would easily be 12.0 if not 12.3, used both PL8 and PL11

No, those aircraft are not off the table.
Typhoon is a higher BR than 1980s & 1990s F-15.
Su-27 has the worst radar of all of them.
J-10 is just a light fighter capable of using PL-12s, it’s not the same as even a 1990s F-15.

probably going to get a bit of hate here, but gripen just isn’t as capable as the 2 other eurocanards. As Morvran mentionned, there is a difference in engines, weapons capacity and flight performances.
But there’s also the radar.

Doesn’t seem to be shocking to me that it’s coming before the eurofighter. Although some very early typhoon prototype could probably be added right now imo
