Both the 2A6EX and 2A7V, as far as I have seen people discuss, should have better thermals for the gunner and the same add on armor on the hull as the Strv 122s.
They’re pretty much Strv 122s, but equal or better in every possible way.
2a7v is still a bit to go,
they could add a 2a7 base wich is also a strv122 with l55
with the thermal upgrades
Interesting will be if they will choose XM-8 hull or Humvee for the system
The base 2A7 doesn’t have the add on armor. So unless they decide to give it D-tech composite it would just be a 2A6 in terms of armor.
And I have seen a lot of people argue that it only received upgraded commander thermals, that gunner still has the good old gen1.

Does the EX actually have better thermals?, the spanish version does use second gen for the gunner but iirc they are from Raytheon, i think that it is the same for the hel, but im not sure about the EX itself.

That doesn’t really specify. Could mean base 2A7, but could as well mean a 2A7 variant.
I’m not really sure. I’m mostly going off what I remember seeing other people argue, but of course my memory could be way off.
So far it looks bad reward wise and if the tank reward is gonna be that US rocket tank then easy pass on this one.
For A6EX, yes. Leopard 2A6 EX uses OPHELIOS Gen 2 thermal imager for gunner.

Ah yes, a super heavy tank built in one prototype (if you can call just tracks with engine and weight added a prototype) that failed even driving(suspension broke down), never had its proposed gun/any gun mounted.
This js literally worse than if soviet mains would be asking for Object 187, one of its version with new style for UFP with 1500 hp turbine engine. Basically more armoured and faster T-90. Also with unique (for ussr era tanks) gun and APDSFS developed specifically for it.
Im personally fine with prototypes being added as long as they were at least made and as long as they wouldnt be game breaking. Oh and ofc they should not be same fairy tail level as Panther 2 and Tiger 2 105, or Flakpanzer 341.

The 2A6EX still had gen 1 gunner thermals, the 2A7V has gen 3 the for gunner and commander. Both should have better armour than the Strv 122, the 2A7V having better armour than the 2A6EX as well.
