Severe damage in this game implies that the enemy is irreparably damaged in Air RB, making it impossible or near impossible to return to base and repair.
A tank in this game is truly never severely damaged beyond repair. It can always repair and will eventually be able to fire again.
Trust me, I get the frustration when you put in all of the work and don’t get the kill for it. But there really isn’t any way to circumnavigate that issue. That tank could have potentially fired again, not leaving it severely damaged enough.
The assist mechanic already does a similar thing so there’s no reason gaijin couldn’t give you the kill credit
The only way they would be able to award it is after the tank dies though, so they have to specialize the mechanic for it.
I’m for it, but considering how lazy Gaijin is, I don’t expect much.
It’s not only that. If there is no visual damage to the vehicle (barrel, tracks) one cannot know what internal module is damaged thus that tank might still fire back and destroy your team mate if you don’t intervene.
Unlike air where it can be pretty obvious that an enemy is “dead” but not dead yet, theres no way to tell with tanks.
Id bet that a solid 90% of the kills that get “stolen” from you, the person who stole it had no idea you had disabled them already. They just saw an enemy tank that as far as they are aware is still fully capable of firing back at them, and fired at it to kill it.
That is actually a good idea, especially for nations with no TNT filler…
Anyways, gaijin never adds this mechanic to ground battles.
Even a severely damaged aircraft can get to the airfield and repair.
And we can actually imagine a typical situation with an enemy tank being severely damaged for several seconds while being without a Gunner + Commander (MG).
(should not work for modules or other crew members, cuz he could still wipe you out with the MG, without a cannon breech, driver, engine, etc.)
Fun fact: if you severely damage an enemy aircraft and a teammate finishes it off, you both get +1 kill.
It should be applicable for tanks as well.
The problem is that would make the game more enjoyable and the grind less painful. 2 things that Gaijin cannot stand giving to players.
Definitely can be frustrating, especially when it obvious that help isn’t needed. That said, its in the game just like spawn camping so if you choose not to do its your choice but it won’t necessarily others
There’s no such thing as kill stealing. If you have the chance to kill someone, then kill them. Didn’t manage to? Too bad — skill issue.
Agree most of the time unless your shell does no damage or gets volumetriced
No TNT filler also being a skill issue, since you didn’t manage to choose a correct nation or vehicle :DD
Move away from teammates, anyone who follows you is a leech and makes you deaf to enemies in built up or urban maps. They block your ability to reverse out of danger. If they force your death from any of these things just leave the match unless they apologise.
They also make you a prime target for air power for 2 for one bomb kills.
When they pull up to your firing position that means they aren’t covering the opposite direction, leaving both of your backs exposed. Offering double kills to the enemy team.
They also break your stealth if you know how to get behind the enemy and maximise back stabbing attacks.
Also known as blue enemies for a long time. :) that’s my 14 years account experience.
Are you saying you’ve never finished off an enemy? Always left it to the one who fired the first shot?
correct!
