By the way, I have only been shot down by Japanese fighters 11 times in ARB this year. If Chinese Jap-made fighters are to be counted, then it will be 16 times. All 5 Chinese kills come from Ki-44,among them, I was in Bf-109G-6 three times (two times I failed to energy trap, due to Ki-44’s insane stall control), B7A2 once (again, failed to energy trap), Yak-3 once (lost all teammates. took off from AF anyway. Ki-44 already gained altitude advantage). Among the 11 times I was killed by Japanese fighters, twice I was killed by Ki-61 in furball, 3 times I was killed by Ki-84(either in furball or failed to SA), 3 times I was killed by A7M, once I was killed by Ki-44II hei (in furball). I was killed by A6M twice, one time was when I flew a Tu-2S, another time is when either side had 1 player left, but my team had much less tickets(only about 300-400 tickets). I had to resupply in AF because I ran out of ammunition, and the A6M6 was already waiting for me when I took off. I decided to take the risk in my Yak-3e anyway, because I’d rather die than losing the match.
To be honest, even though I go for Japanese fighters in my Yak or Lavochkin first, I don’t really consider them as a real threat (except for Ki-44II hei), at least not as dangerous as Spitfire. While some Japanese fighters seem quite dangerous (like A7M2), their pilots are most likely to be as stupid as USA players, knowing nothing but turn fight, wasting all their energy. On the other hand, Spitfires at or above 4.0BR always tend to climb, even if that is a Spitfire MkV.
Oh by the way, I have just noticed that you cannot reach KD1 in any of the A6M5s or A7Ms. It seems you aren’t even smart enough to turn fight. I highly recommend you buy a hospice care program. Even though everyone knows that A6M5 is heavily overtiered, it isn’t really up to you to say the words.
Even though it may not look really good (just like my Yak-3 stat, which is absolute trash), at least I’m pretty sure it’s better than Mr SinisterIsRandom’s…Can’t believe he is actually saying “hey you don’t know how to fight Japanese planes balabala”
I dunno, lets take a peek.
Well its above 1 at least, though keep in mind a very big portion of this is from ground rb since I have the entire japan air tree researched, where i’ll either clap a bunch of planes in one match or the chinese username in an SPAA will onetap me from 5km.
Or since my poor A7M2 is still in my 6.7 and 7.3 lineups it’ll meet radar AAs and become basically unplayable, to the point where I have to fly basically right next to the enemy airspawn to not get clicked on, while fighting jets.
Fun!
Lovely, just another perfect example of my idea that certain fighters with good climb rate, decent firepower and good maneuverability are biased in proper hands (the TT A7M, Ki-44II hei. Yak-9U, Spitfire LF MkIX), allowing players to reach much higher stats in them (even if these fighters are often brought to GRB). Things are especially worse when these fighters have high rip speed. Unfortunately many players fly these monsters just the same way as they work with regular A6Ms (Mr SinisterIsRandom, for example), always crawl on the deck and brainlessly turn fight, and it’s not very difficult to imagine that Ki-44 or Spitfire LF MkIX perform worse than A6M or Yak-3 in the face of BnZ round after round (due to their poor energy retention). If there’s anything to justify the current BR of such fighters, then it must be either Wyvern S4 or F8F-1, or the increase of average ARB player IQ.
Obviously, if you just sit in your F4U waiting for opponents to slaughter all your teammates(USA players, in specific), you’d accumulate abundant energy to run away safely from everyone and J out in your main airfield. Top speed is so important in this manner, why should I care about power-to-weight ratio anyway?
You know, arguing with everyone and being extremely defensive, claiming we are wrong, only puts you in the spotlight and makes you look worse. As someone who played Japan for 7 years, I can tell you none of the Japanese aircraft should be at their so-called “BRs”.
Every time someone claims they should be at those BRs, are people who do not have a basic understanding of the flaws that Japanese aircraft have because they screw up and try to fix their mistake however one screw-up is all it takes for Japanese Mains to capitalize on and kill you.
I had an entire dogfight with a very competent BF-109 one time who played the hit-and-run tactics. To the effect that neither of us could win and when he did turn with me, that guy never gave a second to shoot him down and this was while I was flying a Ki-61. If i flew it with the Ki-44, i would have been dead.
We kept doing this till the match ended, neither of us getting an upper hand over the other.
My Ki-100-II ain’t far off in K/D from any of those (actually beats out the Ki-44-II Hei) yet it climbs and turns much worse. My 109 E7 doesn’t turn anywhere as good as an A7M2 relatively speaking, yet it is right near the top of the chart.

But you have already stated that you brought A7M2 to GRB, which is bad for your stat.
And you still reach high stat with it. Isn’t it very convincing? You are testifying with your own experience. That is what I’m talking about.
I expect nothing less from you. Using my stats to claim I don’t know.
According to the person below who has no username.
Don’t expect much from him. In the end, I think you can agree to an extent that this is nothing more than a Rant. How this guy lacks any form of know-how to fight a Ki-44 cause all he wants to do is turn to fight it. A trivial pity.
Ki-61? Bro every variant except the Ko is overtiered as hell, it’s average at best
Yeah I know, that’s why I was mentioning my interaction. The point I was making was that if you are a competent pilot you know what you’re doing. The guy who made this topic doesn’t know what he’s talking about and going by the vehicles he’s played only reinforces this even more.
Why don’t you just admit that you simply are too bad to discuss in this topic? I have respect for PercussionCap or Loofah because they clearly know how to play this game and how to use strategy in ARB. Some might argue that Yak-9U with its energy retention is more deadly in ARB, while I think Ki-44II hei is more broken due to its climb rate and maneuverability combination. But you? None of this discussion is your business, because you have no idea about energy retention or climb rate. I feel sad for PercussionCap because he is agreed by you, and this significantly weakens his argument.
I’d say the 3.7 one is fine. But the 4.7 Ki-61? Even airspawn cannot really save it.
What I just saw you write is just a pretty bunkum.
Maybe I’m just that good.
Or maybe it just doesn’t take much effort to spot an enemy and figure out what the best interception path is to put me right in gun range while they’re unaware, because of course there’s no markers and they have no idea what I am, if they even know i’m there because usually they’ll be staring at the ground looking for something to bomb/rocket/strafe.
Besides for how good the A7M2 is, that’s a pretty high number of battles to get those kills in, and will be ‘inflated’ per se by stuff like this
(ie shooting fish in a barrel)
And all I see is a player who, after 7 years, still have no idea about energy in air combat, know nothing but turn fight, and get shot down every single game because everytime people don’t turn fight you, you become a sitting duck.
:) You can sit at the grown-up’s table when you play Japan. Cause you never did. Mr Soviet Main.
He’s missing out, japan is incredibly fun if you can play around the whole “you’re not catching up to anyone EVER if you can’t dive unto them”.
