Compared datamines from end of 2023 to today in 2024
Performance data is from Catwerfer’s EM diagram Google sheets.
well i meant i was asking u what characteristics makes the f4u4 deserve to be 4.7 or 5.0 that i also asked before. its main strengths are low speed dogfighting and high top speed and has much worse turn than p51d30. now im confused what ur stance is, you say ki44 should be uptiered (should be 4.0 first) but also think the f4u4 should too? sure if the economy was favorable to long matches and gaijin had good tutorials to teach players how to bnz and most us teams played properly i would agree with bnzs going up, but both arent the case.
undertiered planes like the xp50 wyvern f8f1, maybe yak3 pm1 (arguable) should go up, overtiered planes like a6ms and some italian planes mentioned (idk since i dont have italian tt) should go down. i dont think the f4u4 is on that list and playing 5.0 us for a long while i literally have not seen a single top fragger in it. why uptier planes that are already off meta for the off chance someone may use their single niche strength?
i watched it and i only heard him describe the xp50 yak3 and spitfires as the toughest to fight against. 109 only rates better at 250ias but if the yak3 is a decent pilot he’ll gain a lot of position fast with better MER at entry speeds. spitfires have poor MER and lower top speed.
4.7 for F4U-4 at most, I’d say. F4U-4 got low power-to-weight ratio, but it does have good top speed. Even though it is far less overpowered than Ki-44 or F8F-1, in an ideal environment F4U-4 can be quite annoying. And F4U-4 turns well at lower speed. But just as I said, low power-to-weight ratio, being a USA fighter, which means having useless USA teammates, and its engine does not perform well at 1500-2500m altitude, all of these make it less than “overpowered”. It’s not in ideal environment, and only a few of the players know how to utilize its characteristics. Still, it’s easier to aim in F4U-4 than P-51 in BnZ.
Oh, and another thing. When I referred to 5.0, I was actually trying to say Fw-190D. Guess that’ll be where F4U-4 is, had it been in Germany tech tree.
Link to it, and show me when and how Gaijin cryptonerfed Yak-3, cause to me it’s just as deadly as ever.
You can’t check such stats for a specific plane.
My point is, current statcards suck monkey nutz.
Farming AI is effective, because you can consistently score 5 kills per battle while killing 1-2 player planes only.
Oh, BTW US teams around 4.0-6.0 are godawful.
Played XP-55.
It’s a goddamn monster. But it’s not capable of winning 1 v 4 vs Yak-3s and Bf 109s, and typical XP-55 battle is:
- team all goes low and dies in a furball, as US planes are generally horrible turnfighters
- I remain at alt, get swarmed, or I dive down, kill 1-2 guys before getting 3rd-4th partied.
So I am not surprised F8F is 4.7 nowadays.
They utilise their new BR to die by Ki-44-II in a turnfight.
Meanwhile Yak-3 swarms mop up entire teams and pay2win Yak-3 remains at 4.0 because reasons.
Balance in this game is a joke
To be honest, Yak-3e also suffers from team. In this plane, over and over and over again Gaijin give you USA teammates and hordes of horrible Yak-9T/I-185(185 itself is quite good) teammates. I have seen more Yak-3/La-7 teammates when I am in Ger Bf-109G-6 than in Yak-3e. I don’t think this is ELO because my Bf-109G-6 stat is also quite good. This is absolutely a mystery. : (
I have to agree, Soviet teams are also pretty bad. Yak-3 is extremely good, but it sometimes takes time to get the desired effect as this plane is super good when used with a bit of patience and calculated approach. Yet the nature of braindead teammates calls for joining the furball to save ANYTHING, only to get attacked from above by Ki-61 and Mk V Spitfire. Or not join the furball and get dragged into combat at 6000m, waste half an hour only to have the enemy dive for his AF.
Absolutely hilarious.
I felt a sense of deja vu reading this.
If u were talking about the a5u2, its .7 overtiered Idk why its that high it looks the same as the 4.0 190s, the a8 and f8 have airspawns but yea they underperform a bit. 190ds are meant for 3rd partying they have better climb and high speed turn with stronger flaps and cannons usually increase br a lot so its not a fair comparison to the f4u4.
U didn’t seem to get what i said, i didn’t say they aren’t missing key information but if someone usually farms ai to inflate stats then their leaderboard score would show they killed a lot of ai, maybe u can also tell from the sl but I’m not sure.
I also said if people get 5 ai consistently it means they most likely helped their team, i dont think i saw anyone ever get ignored by the enemy team when ai hunting since most people love a free kill, or go out of their way to avoid any fighting only to target ai, and u can also get easy kills like from bomber hunting. U are probably saying 5 ai can be easily done with ur own perspective like u don’t have a 3kd lol.
the ki-44 -II has, when spaded, a top speed of 395 mph, which isn’t all that bad. i use it to a lot of success at 4.7
i’m not gonna lie i got no idea what ur even talking about or how this is supposed to be a valid strategy. i said the most likely thing that happened was the ki44 cooked his engine. this “tactic” ur talking of makes absolutely no sense and doesn’t even address the large difference in t:w that i showed.
Planes have a tradeoff between induced and parasitic drag. the ki44 accelerates faster at 360kmh ias and below so this is completely incorrect
And what do you even mean by “it does perfectly well against stuff like N1k2j, Ta-152 H1, Ki-94-II”? N1k significantly outclimbs and outturns it. TAH outclimbs it at <2.5km, is marginally worse higher and easily outturns the f4u with flaps. Idk what the ki-94 is. sure in an ideal world the f4u4 would probably be 4.7 but that clearly isn’t true is it? and unless there’s a difference with the performance of vehicles in sim which i asked about but you didn’t reply you are completely wrong. Because I have used the f4u4 and had a ki44ii on the same team, when i climbed to 3.5 or 4km he was already at 5km and cruising to the enemy team.
Any american plane goes that fast without even trying…
for its br right now its probably best plane amazing climbrate reached 20k feet well before my P51 C10
ive played both f4u4 and p51c10 and the ki44II i can say the best way to defeat it is tag team it thats pretty much the oonly way use superior speed to run making it 4.0 sounds fine but no higher
You forgot to mention that russian guns are currently meta as well. Shvak rules the skies, by far.
MG151 & Mineshells are not what they used to be. First the RoF, then the drag values / ballistics, now they selfdestruct after around 1km, which makes sniping impossible. Finally I’ve got the impression the damage has been lowered as well. Its like peashooting.
Mineshells always used to do alot damage, since they simply have alot explosive mass. But somehow it doesn’t feel like it.
The self destruct ruined head-ons. It’s also broken as rhe shells explode at 1400m from firing position. IRL they exploded after 3s, so much further away if fired at alt and by a plane moving forward with significant speed.
At the same time, 1 HE shvak or even HE Berezin 12,7mm hit will.ruin your maneuvrability to the point that return to the AF is your only option.
Gaijin has really made the game so much worse with their decisions. And nowadays poor G.55 can’t even deploy combat flaps above 280 IAS and it was one of the few planes that could actually threaten Soviet dominance if it was allowed to climb to alt.
Damage is fine. I used the Fw 190 A-5/U2 and scored quite a lot of kills.
Using stealth, since otherwise your stuck with 720m/s Mineshells.
It’s just that the damage doesn’t make sense in comparison.
Why does everyone always want to nerf Japan or uptier us? We have J2M’s now facing jets, our Ki-84’s can face 60’s jets. Our planes are made of paper, even the 44 though less so, and we have a far few weaknesses.
