Kh38. hammer - brimstone

After first clip ended, EF spawned and massacred me

This is GOLD XD

Ok so after you did your attack run in uncontested airspace, during which you launched 3 mavs at two different targets, someone spawned a CAP, at which point the airspace stopped being uncontested.

What is your point here?

That with brimstones the result would be different? You would die all the same if everything else stayed the same with only difference being you launched a single brimstone as opposed to 3 mavs.

Atleast the brimstone would kill that leopard, thats my point

Not necessarily. You can’t just make a definitive statement that all brimstone hits are kills and mavericks are not.

Guess you’re right, mavs are still trash tho

True but as someone who has the pleasure of both in their tree let me tell you: laser guided brimstones are much worse in the current SPAA environment

Like 2 minutes. They would have to 1.) know the bomb is coming and move 3 vehicles or 2.) intercept them.

You could also pop up and launch from about 10km and it takes less than 30 seconds to get to target.

It’s super easy

2 minutes is like half of a game in GRB and radar will let you know something is coming.

And then get dunked on by a missile that doesn’t require that it’s launch system has a LoS to the target.
That was a good strategy against SACLOS SAMs.

Works fine for me

Is hammer = Mavs?, can anybody explain.

Hammers are the AASM 250 from the Rafale, Mavs are the american AGM-65
Or did you mean capability wise?

Mavs are worse 10x

Nah i thought Mavs were considered Hammers too, but anyways if Hammers going to suffer then i don’t know about Mavs.

The point of the post is about brimstone

In my opinion AASM will continue to do just fine and I imagine so will the Kh-38

I can make kills at 12.0 with 10.0 vehicles but that doesn’t mean I’ll be effective in the long run.

Your Rafale stats could be better if that works so effortlessly.

I agree that having F&F to begin with does make the AH-64E far more user friendly, I do however disagree that this outright makes the AH-64E better, it does however make it far easier to use.

The performance gap is still massive however, people here seem to be focusing solely on the munition itself and not what its attached to.

TBH, the brimstone sports a slightly better 114B warhead and I’ve yet to have issues oneshotting tanks with the 114B compared to the AGM-65 family who consistently let me down.

Frankly if I could have brimstones on my F-15 and such I would be quite happy with them due to the lower SALH spawn cost and the 114 style warhead which I’ve never had issues with.

Ofc the platform matters but I can tell you that on maps that are not a completely flat field i rather spawn my Eurocopter with PARS than my EF due to simplicity of use and less risk

And thats the innate difference at play, the AH-64E is a floating ATGM carrier and thats it, if you want to take the risk of spawning a fixed wing you have to end up trying harder but you can get far better results with said effort.

Gunships are cheaper and easier to use by their nature but have a lower effectiveness ceiling due to what they are fixed wings have a far higher buy in and associated higher performance (for some, stuff like the A-10s are outliers) with said risk involved.

And i think that’s the part most here disagree with. Theoretically yes but for a laser guided weapon the additional effort (and especially time) is in no relation to the results compared to an FnF
