The Pantsir S1 is from the mid '90s, Tor-M1 is from the late '80s… And that isn’t even in the Soviet tree, China gets it exclusively!
Most countries consider self-propelled highly mobile anti-air to be… Obsolete, stationary sites?
Are you joking?
How so?
Who asked? Use your “western air superiority” to deny some Kh-38s if it’s such a problem.
the main modernization would be pantsi s1m, there are better newer systems, some have been upgraded in decent numbers but thing like pantsir SM have not, Tor has been upgraded once. chinese systems are different from russian systems, and they by far rely significantly less on mobile anti air systems compared to russia, as they actually have a competent air force.
we’ve had this argument already, spaas have been left behind by most nato countries for a reason, stationary sites can do the defensive job better, and aircraft can do to the offensive part better, hell we’ve seen ukraine use patriot offensively to decent effect too. im not getting in another argument about this here you clearly dont agree.
why are we still in this “new vs old” non sense
it doesn’t matter. capabilities matter.
kh38mt is both newer and more capable than most other AGM’s ingame, aasm 250 is slightly older than kh38mt but still way too strong imo. i just dont see why these weapons needed to be added.
which doesnt matter
which matters
because if it was newer and less capable it would be no problem
age does not matter. age never has mattered. it is pointless to mention it
it makes sense to mention it in a discussion about a weapons capabilities, not really in a discussion about its place in the game, like r77-1 shows its all about wether a weapon would be balanced ingame. aasm250 and kh38mt even after the cost increase arent balanced
it isn’t a factor in this game
no it does not. it only tells age. capabilities tell where it should be balanced
re read what i said please
age isn’t a factor. pointless to try to use it to strengthen an argument
I like Cold War era stuff - Amx-30s, Leo 1s, M60s… its still not top tier regarding capabilities, although there are a few outliers. I think the game is best around 8.0ish (7.7-9.0 to be more exact)… lots of fun in there, with some unusual stuff thrown into it too. CAS/Helis are not as OP as in the higher BRs, and they can be counter-played, but a good CAS player could make a difference in these BRs (but still necessarily winning the game).
Alas, personal opinion/preference. Not going to try to convert anyone. I understand people who enjoy even lower tiers; Im personally not a fan of all the WW2 stuff.

if you dont think AAs are underpreforming look at the thread about how much gaijin has messed up the ADATS
Did I ever once state that AAs aren’t underperforming?
you asked “How so?” so I mentioned somewhere you can find out
You didn’t give me one singular answer to the question of “how so”, simply pointing your finger and deflecting over to the ADATS doesn’t answer how it’s worse than it is IRL.
there are like 5-10 different major things mentioned there, do you really expect me to accurately list them?
Yes? You’re the one that mentioned it out of place, so what about it is underperforming in relation to real life?
incorrect radar elevation in game it is 18, irl up to 72 depending on conditions and target range
in game lacking ability to que targets to irst from the radar despite being IRL feature
missile velocity+agility less than IRL
IRST missing adverse weather capability, and range is too low in game
TWS tracking of up to 20 targets IRL
Sight elevation limited to 60 degrees in game while ILR could go past vertical
Sight missing stabalization
Thermal sight resolution too low in game
IRL it could tell where its missile was after the motor burned out
inability to effectively intercept munitions in game where it was confirmed and tested to be able to irl
and more

According to?
Do you mean being able to lock onto people via IRST based on their radar return?
Welcome to poor implementation of every SPAA in the game! Anything with radar and IRST as the sole locking feature is unable to slew via radar, from the CV9040 to even the Soviet SPAA.
According to?
As is everything else in the game. Welcome to engine limitations and poor implementation.
It has TWS. It sort of came with its optical tracking.
Are you talking the sim sights or gun-attached sight?
Still sim sights?

So… Datalink?

It’s more than capable of intercepting Kh-38Ms, Vikhrs, Kedges, and Karens.
