Will it be able to capture moving targets using GNSS?

AASM 250 Hammer SBU 64’s have had IR guidance with IOG+GNSS since they were added with the Rafale in Update Storm Warning last year.

On the live server, doesn’t matter, you can’t fire them in GNSS mode, you still need line of sight to lock on to either the ground or the target before launching. The satellite is just a backup guidance mode if lock is lost.

edit - even then, I’m not 100% sure whether its even using the GNSS at all. Dropping the laser on laser+IOG+GNSS weapons doesn’t backup to GNSS

Have you tested them on the dev server? Have they actually changed the IR+GNSS behaviour for the Hammer/Kh-38? Or is it still the same as its been with the Hammers?

I knew that Gaijin wouldn’t be able to resist buffing the Soviet nation. With the introduction of new SPAA for other nations. And how quickly they made a long-range air respawn, which they had been asking for all these years, so as not to appear and respawn right in the zone of action of the Pantsir. They do everything for the USSR, they don’t give a damn about others. And there is already news that the USSR will receive a BUK M3 with a range of up to 70 km, they can’t give someone a new weapon while leaving the USSR without something more powerful.

What ?
You could lock and fire in POINT mode before at well over 13km of range.

I swear people just look at stat card and they get all angry over numbers… even funnier with range considering any and all guided (TV or IR) A2G is limited by it lock range. Doesnt matter if missile says it range 10km, 20km or brazillion km - it will be restricted by it lock range (which is in itself, by absolute maximum if we ever reach that, limited by render distance of about 20km)

No, it’s just like every other GNSS bomb, but its guidance is partial then switches to laser IIRC

Yeah, they don’t get that the stat cards are like, the most helpless and useless thing, in the game maybe.

It doesn’t even make a difference for the MT because you can or rather need to do a point lock anyways. If anything it buffed the 38ML

Sounds like they still haven’t fixed the dropping laser turns on IOG instead of GNSS bug. But GNSS mode does work for ML, assuming you unticked the “Turn on laser before launch” toggle

Still defaults to point lock

penguin missle has 2km lock range but 50 km iog launch, would that make her even more op?

Thanks.

It seems like the GNSS coordinates aren’t set in the weapon if you launch with the laser on.

And launching in GNSS mode with the laser off, turning the laser on then off again midflight seems to wipe the coordinates.

Its noticeable with the Hammer because it uses a pretty odd flight path. Not lofting, but instead tries to maintain altitude until near the target. Ends up flying right over the target keeping its altitude.

38MT Lofts, ML goes direct even on GNSS

edit - I assumed you meant after turning the laser off?

On the dev? Currently on the live server the ML’s don’t even use IOG if you launch with the laser on, and turn it off midflight.

It may seem to use IOG if its already on a terminal approach path, after the loft. But its just gliding on its momentum. If you turn the laser off during the loft, it just keeps lofting.

On dev yes, will check it out further, just making sure I didn’t mess up. Pure GNSS mode btw, never turned on laser

Ah, I assumed you meant launching with it on and turning it off, my bad

Whats the IOG drift like for Kh-38?

Okay it does loft a little, turning on laser midflight works as always, turning it off switches to IOG and basically wipes GNSS. Noticeable IOG drift, not significant enough to make a difference anyways because of big warhead lol

Thanks for testing

W8 u cant launch them when u activate target point?

Not from behind cover. IR/TV weapons use a different locking mechanism.

In 3rd person, it just activates the mouse locking system where it tries to lock up where your mouse is aiming.

And in 1st person, its just going to try and ground lock whatever object is between you and the target point.
