The Core Issue: An Over-Tiered Airframe in Purgatory The Kfir Canard currently sits at 11.3, an environment where it tends to struggle against modern multi-role aircraft. While its raw straight-line speed allows for low-altitude base-bombing loops that help keep its statistics afloat, its actual air-to-air combat performance leaves the aircraft feeling a bit trapped in the current meta.
Honestly, the airframe is just caught in a severe performance paradox: it either needs its Battle Rating lowered to match its actual combat effectiveness, or it needs to be buffed with the avionics and weaponry required to survive at 11.3.
Poor K/D and Combat Statistics
The Veteran Bias Paradox: High-tier premiums like the Kfir Canard are predominantly purchased and flown by veteran pilots who understand positioning, energy retention, and discipline.
Failing PvP Metrics: Despite being flown by experienced players trying to make it work, its actual K/S (Kills per Spawn) and K/D ratios tend to lag behind contemporary 11.0–11.3 premiums.
The Telemetry Flaw: The aircraft’s overall statistics are mostly propped up by PvE base-grinding. Balancing the Battle Rating purely around base-bombing efficiency while overlooking its difficult PvP performance creates a situation where even skilled pilots struggle to find success with its combat loadout.
Obsolete Avionics and Defense Limitations
Zero Radar & Blind RWR: The aircraft lacks any onboard radar and features a legacy RWR model that unfortunately cannot detect modern J-band threats (such as high-tier interceptors like the MiG-25). In an 11.3 match, pilots are left mostly defenseless against off-screen BVR and radar missile threats without warning chirps.
Severe Countermeasure Deficit: Restricted to a meager 36 total flares, it can be quite challenging to sustain defensive maneuvers against modern all-aspect missile spam.
Outdated and Restricted Missile Suite
Inferior Armament: Limited strictly to legacy rear-aspect missiles (AIM-9G / Shafrir 2), it is often outclassed by the all-aspect and high-G dogfight missiles (PL-5B, AIM-9L, R-60M) standard at this BR.
Historical Discrepancy: While historical Israeli doctrine and the broader Kfir family integrated advanced domestic munitions like the Python series (and had the structural capacity for a 4-missile loadout), this variant is currently limited to just two sub-par rear-aspect missiles. It would be lovely to see these considered.
Visual Quality Control and Animation Errors
Landing Gear Clipping: When carrying specific payloads near the centerline pylons, the landing gear unfortunately clips right through the ordnance and pylon geometry during the retraction and compression animation cycles.
Magical Wing Fuel Venting: The actual fuel-dumping visual effect lacks a modeled drain nozzle. When dumping fuel, the vapor seems to stream straight out of the solid wing surface, which could use a bit of visual polish.
Incomplete Damage Model (Unmodeled Avionics)
Due to an incomplete damage model, the aircraft lacks fully modeled internal avionics systems. While it is already penalized by a lack of modern sensors, this results in an inconsistency where incoming shrapnel and hits pass through empty space rather than triggering realistic component degradation.
Proposed Solutions:
Option A (BR Reduction): Lower the Kfir Canard’s Battle Rating from 11.3 to 10.7-11.0 to reflect its actual combat effectiveness, bringing it in line with aircraft that share similar avionics and missile limitations. This would be a really solid way to fix how punishing it feels right now.
Option B (Loadout & Avionics Buff): If it is to remain at 11.3, modernize its capabilities to match its tier by granting it access to historical missile loadouts (such as the Python series and more of them) and a capable RWR suite.
Bug Fixes: Please address the visual landing gear clipping, add a proper fuel-dumping nozzle mesh to the wing surface, and review its avionics damage model implementation for better accuracy when you guys get the chance.
