also this is the pattern of ahead ammo not KETF (it is a different picture but you can see pretty much the same pattern)
its quite similar, the article mentioned the KETF is basically developed from the AHEAD so maybe its just like AHEAD mk2
found out they are the same thing they just have different designation for production
now this is valid data. where dyou get this?
i got it from here tho im afraid my comment may be taken down for “spam”, official rheinmetall info btw
ah so its 152 tungsten balllz
which comment, unless someone reports it it dosent really get removed
i had one of the PUMA posting the MUSS 2.0 system official link and it got flagged by someone and taken down for “spam”
kinda weird since it states it has 152 tungsten submuniton for the 35 but i remember when they promoted the PUMA as the newest IFV they stated the 30 mm ahead had 164 submunitions
was it on a related topic?
possible that a news source got it wrong?
aha found out something about it so far seems that some sources may have gotten it wrong confusing it with the KETF 30mm wich its different from the 35 mm since apparently KETF its a worse version of the AHEAD at least for 30 mm version idk why 35 mm is posted as AHEAD/KETF since its the same but 30 mm KETF dispersion radius of the fragments cannot be changed but it is more effective and stronger than ahead at penetrating
it was in another topic not here sadly
new leaks lol,
(joke dw)
anyone translate?
i know some german i could translate, last time i translated it went very well
I would but i am sick with rona not doing so good so i pass
yeah this one says 152 sub projectiles
this is the interesting part (same info as rheinmetall page)
1-bullet mass 750 g
2-muzzle velocity 1050 m/s
3-number of sub projectiles(swirl-rod)152
4- sub projectile mass 3.3 g
"Depending on the target type and size, 7 to 25 active body hits should be enough to destroy it. a 35 mm fire unit achieves this result with a burst of 25 rounds at ranges of more than 2,5 km against cruise missiles and 1.5 km against fast-approaching guided missiles. these excellent values in a system comparison. AHEAD is also effective against large targets, such as airplanes and helicopters
this part its extremely interesting
“A specially equipped Lear jet tow aircraft stationed at the Linz-Hersching airfield was used for guided missile target display. This jet can tow high-speed targets. They are equipped with smoke tracer cartridges and a TV camera, which registers the active projectiles emitted directly in front of the target. This jet tug would be used to fly targets that are certainly comparable to the use of a cruise missile. The high system performance of the Skyguard quickly detected the towed target, and the processed data was immediately passed on to the 35 mm gun. Oerlikon-Contraves writes: The performance of the Skyguard search system allows even small missiles to be detected and tracked precisely. The Skyguard 35 mm AHEAD missile defense system reacts quickly, has precise fire control, high muzzle performance and is extremely effective. A new milestone in air defense”
btw this comes from an swiss magazin and its from 1994 wich i think is crazy
