I don’t know if this is a bug or some odd feature but I’m unable to equip both the HIRSS and MAWS at the same time but the Ka50 is able to have both. Has anyone else noticed this?

the maws upgrade typicaly equips both at the same time, just look at5 the HIRRS models they should change at least they do on the mi 24

No, I don’t think that what exactly they are talking about since the screenshot doesn’t really depict the issue perfectly, before it was exactly that since the HIRSS was equipped automatically with the MAW but recently it seems to be bugged to where they are not on the visual model when MAW is equipped, they do though appear when you have HIRSS itself selected, I noticed this the other day after playing the Ka-52 after sometime which I was confused about, I also encountered a similar thing with my Ah-64 Peten (the American one but I checked the Israeli one and the same applies) and sometime similar has happened to it since the IRCM which was behind the main rotors is no longer present though in this case no matter what I have equipped, I decided to just a bit ago check some of my other helicopters which have such modifications and the Mi-35M at first looked normal until I removed the IRCM and put on the countermeasures the HIRSS was removed like the Ka-52, and I also checked the Mi-24V which looked likewise normal at first but if I removed the IRCM and don’t replace it with countermeasures or HIRSS it bugs out since it loads the visual model only having the HIRSS but no countermeasures despite them not being on the model, so it’s certainly bugged right now, if I had to guess it might be down to how now countermeasures are stock might have bugged the game into loading the wrong model. Also as for the OP question on why the Ka-50 can use both, it’s because Gaijin had it modeled on the ka-50 by default since it didn’t matter if they added it as a modification or not since it was going to be their when you get it since it’s a premium vehicle.

yeah the screenshot may not be the best way to depict it but yeah it popped up pretty recently so I think it might be a visual bug or just a bug were the game doesn’t recognize the HIRSS

I have the same issue, I suspect this either means You can only equip one or the other, or that HIRSS is just not rendered. The KA-52 should be able to use both.
