Just remove drones

I want to grind with pansir, so dont remove the MQ drones ty.

It allows people to sit and camp objectives ridiculously easily, its as close to arcade as ive seen it get to be quite honest, they can use the scout drone, then scout the person and do this multiple times.
Seriously it is beyond stupidly unbalanced, one or two people can hold and entire objective or flank against half a team due to the fact one person literally has a birds eye view.
Which is daft because the way the game renders tanks stand out from literally miles away. so a drone in a close proximity thats next to impossible to shoot down can see almost everything.

a load of SPAA cant even lock them even in clear skies. As a brit main I am powerless against far away helis or hellfire drones most the time until I get into a plane myself

They seriously are busted.

Allows certain players to play with an unfair advantage, i refuse to use them now adays due to the matter.

Ive used them once, realised i was ZERO help to the team and no better than Helipad campers and never used it again

Its helpful if you havw two or three up and spot the enemies but its more useful for campers.

I can do the same in a harrier while also getting rid of enemy CAS

This. Scout drones are actual bs. Though giving some tanks some more capability could be fine but especially with being nearly unkillable no matter if with mg hits, ir missiles or by proxy aa giving players (or even worse - whole dedicated squads which get constant squad pings) basically wallhacks is a game mechanic that i really can’t understand why it was added.

Even worse, get in a sneaky light tank, get your drone up relatively high and let it circle in a relatively small circle to decrease chances getting hit by basically the only thing that can effectively get them- the 2s38 what a weird coincidence) and squad ping locations of static tanks. quickly switch back to your tank and scout the squad ping-boom half the map scouted. your team is playing arcade in easy mode from then on.

i mean as if a giant shoot me sign above the head for the whole enemy team to see, following you around for 30 seconds no matter what you do wasn’t ridicolous enough for a game mode called “realistic”. why not make it so you scout and then it gives said ping but to the location you were last seen in and NOT following you. if then you die to an enemy, the person that reported your location would still get the assist as is? Especially since also every single plane or heli will also somehow, magically see the marker following you across half the map. how realistic is that for a ww2 plane seing a red ! move through a town?

Should i edit my messages somehow @Stona_WT ?

I think what i want to say with this (knowing that this is not intended by the snail and doesnt reliably work - but still more often than it should) is that i also think that scout drones in combination with the scouting mechanic in combination especially with reduced sp costs for cas vehicles needs some work. It feels a bit out of line that you can easily give your team on a very big part (and some extend the whole map) such a big advantage without putting yourself or even your scout drone in any danger. It’s basically the 0 risk way into cas. And I’ve read about light tanks being useless cuz no armor here.

There is an awkward period where you’re relying on ZA-35 and co, i’ll give you that, but after 10.3 you got nothing to worry about. Strela can donk drones from far out (can take out the Chinese drone before it even gets to its 6KM missile range), and Starstreaks, while difficult to master can stealthily donk jets and helicopters alike. Probably why I play Britain 8.3 or 10.7 and not much in between.

I play 6.7 and 7.7 mostly and cant work with the ZA35 and marksman as their radars are less accurate than they should be and it drives me nuts.

not a big fan of russian copy paste SPAA either when we have domestic vehicles which could have taken the place

I don’t mind ZA-35 radar. I rarely sit in spawn doing long-range SPAA with it, though. I’ll be mobile around the battlefield and will hold fire until CAS approaches. And I use it as a tank killer so air is just a bonus.

Spoiler

But yeah, for 6.7 you can be forgiven for bringing air, especially the Spit or Tempest. When I’m using the AVRE, I’ll bring air and then I’ll SPAA in the G6 or M109A1 with HE-VT, haha. Though, I do have the Skink and Ystervark in the AVRE line-up for when I need to be sensible and actually bring a proper SPAA.

God-tier SPAA in this game, so I make an exception. But yeah, all I’m saying is that Britain is in a pretty good place for taking out air/drones/heli after 10.3 (until top-tier where CAS takes over). I would like something of British domestic product in between ZA-35 and the higher-tier BR (if there is one), that would be the equivalent of the lower-BR stinger SPAA you see around in other nations, like USA/USSR/China and so.

I take the mk24 instead of SPAA, I don’t really use it for CAS but its quite effective for a plane with bombs with only a 5th of the yield of American counterparts

I don’t agree with this.

There are a couple of issues with SPAAs in relation to strike drones.

The “new” OSA doesn’t pick up Strike drones on Radar…they spawn too high.
TVD on 10.3 SPAAs is rather the exception and that makes finding drones a bit more difficult.

I agree that once you see them, you can intercept them with Radar/Missile SPAAs, but the only IR SPAA that I know can deal with them from range is the Type 81 in the Japanese TT.
