when your complete line has one particular era you should only face that era. sick and tired of being shot with atgms in my ww2 line up what is realistic about that

let’s say you had a Maus, would it be fair to the enemy team who can’t pen you at all. also, what about T54/55’s, they would have to vs Leopards 2A7Vs and Abrams. (T54/55 are still in service today and have seen combat in the Russo/Ukraine war). It would be unfair for the people playing those tanks.

Learn to play simulator battles then, is the closest of realistic and era-based matchmaking we have in War Thunder, has decent reward for what realistic battles could offer and slow-paced gameplay.

First off, era is unrealistic.
Realism has nothing to do with era or time, it’s just physics and capabilities.
Maus is technically cold war as it’s a 1945-1946 prototype much like other cold-war vehicles.
Realism and balance matters more than reliving history.
And why would 8.0/8.3s face 12.0’s?
By that logic, the Leopard 1 and Marder 1A3 would face T-90M’s.
Dude’s asking for an era lock. Its not a great idea anyway, but they’re not asking for changes to the BR system.

The Maus was not a cold war vehicle. The project itself started in 1943. and the prototypes were completed in WW2.

It never made it to service, its a CONCEPT… It eventually led to the rooikats.
I ment it’s a 1979 vehicle at tier 3 with no atgms or autocannon, making that it would probably fight mbts at a way higher br than it should

Things like marder and ratel 20 have no business being as low as they are. keep ATGMs out of ww2 vehicle range its stupid
modern tanks will absolutely destroy the Marder and ratel 20. They are put in BRs based on their capability and how effective they are. Not era based
MILAN ATGMs should not be able to see a tiger tank out of principle. the capability of the Ratel even tho I hate the thing is absurdly powerful. one shot a tiger 2 in the hull in a scout vehicle and frequently see tiger 1 and panther. pure insanity.
and marder is what a good ratel 20 would be. move that thing up considerably too. not to its era but far from the things that its unfair for it to face
