JF-17 still can fly sideways

Which doesn’t specify speed nor installed thrust.
It’s producing 11,000kgf at mach 0.95.

On top of that, installed static thrust is 6834kgf currently.

direct conversion gives 8618.25503 kgf of force (from 19,000lbf)
the RD-33MK states 9000 which is in the plausible advertisement purposes range.
RD-93MA though, it gives a different rating because its improved over the original.

comparison b/w ws-13, rd-33 and rd-93

calculatedly though lol

RD93 is showed with 84.4kilo N, and 49.4 kilo N for no after burner, plus the max speed is 1900km/h rather than 1600 currently in game, it is unlikely for the WS13 (86kN) and RD93MA (93kN) to increase speed by 300km/h even if the data is for block 3.

which is usually understood to be more or less max thrust provided at most if not any given moment

8000kgf less than the stated 19000kgf

RD33Mk is not comparable to RD 93 in this aspect cause despite the very direct line RD93 is designed for JF17 and therefor is unlikely to be completely the same, plus in this aspect RD93 is supported by 2 air intakes, which means the channel loss is similar to Mig29.

Nope, it’s not 19,000kgf, it’s 19,000lbf.

@141_allen

49kn of dry thrust.

oh ye mb

Max speed? I find it hard to believe it is 1600km/h, as it states 1.6 mach most places.

overall needs a FM redo with better energy retention and the best rate ability short of the Mig-15, some sabres and the F-18

I’m 90% sure it’s instructor and not FM.
I’ll verify the hypothesis one way or the other in about 30 - 60 minutes with the HOTAS.

gonna need to shoot that sarge

Did it get MAWS as promised?

idts yet

They did mention it in dev blog.

I’m not sure it would rate that well, especially against aircraft like the F-16.

It has worse TW ratio than an F16 and seems to have worse wing loading

It behaves the bullshirt way in SB so it’s a FM thing

with the LERX and the F-18 wings it can do some serious energy retention.
its gaijins fault to model everything eastern as pull pull pull and be a massive airbrake when the JF–17 is more western than eastern

T/W maybe worse uptill block 2 late but energy retention is not just dependent on T/W either

I’d say it’s 80% instructor, 20% flight model right now.

I have no idea what the recovery characteristics are for a Jeff, but it felt ludicrously hard to recover from a spin or whatever the hell the sideways flying thing could be defined as.

I barely recovered it from a spin from 22,000ft. In Sim. In Arcade it’s just straight up not recoverable. If it departs flight it just will not recover in AB.

Edit: just seen it’s got a change, i’ll have a go in a bit.
