How is what I said about the F-15 and 16 any different?
F15A and the F15C are different they could stay as they are, when gaijin determines we are ready for AIM 120D then sure why not if the later F15’s dont get substantial upgrades i dont really have a problem with them being updated.
so you want to create a large gap in effective performance? would not be nice for an F-15A to meet the absolute latest version of F-15C with AIM-120D and AESA radar would it? so litteraly no progression from now on? You want a game built on progressing through tech trees, getting new vehicles and upgrading them as you go to just stop where it is now with the planes we have right now getting the best they’re able to carry? There would be a HUGE difference between one plane to the next. Go from AIM-7’s to the absolute latest AIM-120D in this case…
Again kinda my original point. I dont want to research 2 nearly identical gripens where the radar is the only difference. Of which gaijin would probably only put them at a .7 BR higher than our current 13.7 vehicles, so yes, for such miniscule changes idc. Imo the current gripen C can stay where its at and when we get Meteor and such the Gripen NG should be added as it has a much larger selection of differences to warrant that being our next gripen. Ive always assumed we would go Gripen A, C, NG, then E and that would be it. Our air tree would essentially be done considering gaijin didnt think to add the Di when we couldve had it a few updates ago. So no i really dont see a need to have the MS18 or the MS20 when the NG can fulfill their function. When IRIS-T and Meteor are added.
Try to imagine trying to kill a Meteor carying plane with an AIM-7M or even an AIM-120A if that would be a .7 BR change. it would be like trying to kill a AIM-120 carying plane in game now with a early IR seeking missile carying plane… there is such a huge leap of performance difference that there would be no possible way to even try to fight them…
For this game to actually work you need changes like a staircase, not throwing in a random rocket to the moon from one vehicle to the next…
Then tell that to gaijin who are very against decompressing the BR’s for whatever reason. Im using the info currently available to justify and think of how gaijin balances stuff which is why i said 14.3, just like Oom, again i personally wouldn’t let a meteor or IRIS-T vehicle near one of the current 120 slingers but thats unfortunately how it will probably go knowing gaijins balance.
there would be no “current AIM-120 slingers” like they are now if you give them all AIM-120D and Meteor right after the SARH planes
Great then we are agreed that we wont need to expect any other gripens until we get more dangerous missiles slingers over the next few years. Then once meteor and such are added we can get the NG and skip any of the worse options as they dont warrant being added as they would all be around the same performance since theybuse Meteor and IRIS-T and instead we can focus on getting the best of the C models.
the Gripen NG demonstrator is basically just the concept of what was ordered a year or two ago now for the “MS21” upgrade mate. Why not go for the variant of the actual production plane with the capabilities instead of a demonstrator then?
And I never said we should get another Gripen until Meteors are added. What I said is that we should separate the MS18 and MS20 that we have thrown together right now and give them their propper capabilities.
IRIS-T and Meteor carrying airframes are still some 6-12 months away in my estimate. I think what’s going to probably happen is that the current 39C Gripen will be redesignated and “downgraded” into a MS18 variant, while MS19 and MS20 will be skipped altogether and instead we’ll receive the 39E Gripen with all the bells and whistles (IRIS-T, Meteor, SDB, new radar, etc). I just hope that the MS18 gets suffixed to the downgraded 39C variant to make it clearer which one is being represented and avoid the confusion.
Pure speculation, by the way, I neither condone or condemn the presented course of action, but it is what, to me, seems most likely.
Has gaijin ever unmixed vehicles? F15A is an A and MSSIP II, F5C is multiple F5’s from other nations ect ect. So no, i dont think we will get the C to be unmixed, as for the 21 that can be added when the game is ready for it. But for now we are stuck with the C until we get more stuff for everyone. Its unlikely gaijin will split the C into the 18 or the 20 but rather keep them mixed and just take what they want. Or ignore that and keep it as it is as 3 and soon 4 nations will be using the Gripen C of which i doubt we will see specific models of the C come out. Regardless of if said nation used a MS20 or not.
I think the main thing we can all agree on is how little care or thought gaijin has given to the swedish tree as a whole and how absolutely nightmarish it is to look at.
That is absolutely true, an insane mix of shit thrown around without a care in the world…
Literally imo the worst air tree for variety and accuracy. Now when germany gets the eft and the F18 sweden can become the worst air nation for everything lol.
I’ve found myself trying to see the Swedish tree from a Gaijin perspective and failed to make sense of it.
Try being drunk it might help
@Smin1080p_WT can we get a definitive answer as to what the Amalgamation/Abomination is in the swedish tree when it comes to the Gripen C? (While i wouldn’t mind a answer to the 40 other questionable vehicles but thats besides the point.)
I’ll try to remember to try and understand their reasoning/thinking or lack there of next time i am totaly shitfaced drunk, can’t say that I will remember/be able to write down my notes so I can share them later hahaha
I cant type or speak english when im drunk so i probably wont write anything down, now if im in a call i can attempt to speak danish or just slur my words and grumble.
