Taurus doesn’t have a delayed fuze. It’s fuze can detect the density of matter it’s penetrating, count the amount of layers of different materials and empty spaces. That allows to e.g. count how many stories deep in a bunker it’s gone and detonate at a specific level or how deep in bridge support pillar it’s gone and detonate at a predeterment depth.
That fuze is what makes Taurus special, not the engine. (Same fuze is used in the NSM as well)
Yes, but the fuze isn’t counting time until detonation like other fuzes, it measures it’s detonation point. (If you told the developers of the fuze it’s just a delayed fuze they’d be mad, they go to great lengths to avoid that word at all cost xD)
Well, its not time delayed, but it is most definitively delayed :P
“Delayed fuse” is more like an umbrella term for any mechanism that delays the main explosion to occur in a specified delay, can be time, can be amount of armor penetrated, can be number of floors, can be a specific action (like late WW2 bombs with magnets that triggered when moved by the defusal team making them effectively work as mines).
Just noticed that my report for MS upgrades were acknowledged, not that it will do anything in short terms but nice to see they have acknowledged it. It may help mitigate any misunderstandings or confusion for the playerbase even if it does not add any features at the end. (It was not ment to add features but rather a labeling).
What are the thoughts on the JAS-39C in the Swedish, Hungarian and Thai trees getting AIM-120C-5?
Sadly this is the only actual source I can find stating that Sweden bought AIM-120C-5 but it is there. You’ll find Sweden’s purchases listed at the bottom of page 528 continuing on 529.
That is done purely for “balancing” reasons. you don’t see the Gripen carying Brimstones in game do you? only reason the Swedish 39C got AGM-65G was because of the outcry of making the Swedish one just objectively worse than all others. It also doesn’t have GBU-49 which it does carry in Swedish service since the first round of MS20 upgrades.
We didn’t cried, we simply demanded equal treatment and as I’ve said as long as Gaijin thinks any Gripen needs better weapon system that is compatible they will add it.
don’t kid yourself, there was some outcry to get that added. I was there as well mate. And what you are saying is that the GBU-49 should’ve been added to the Gripen when it became available to the others that got it as well by that but it hasn’t.
The odds of a vehicle getting a munition increases by a lot if the country actually used it in service.
Any non-service munitions are purely for balancing.
Don’t try to put my words into my mouth. You might have cried during that period but most of the Swedish community was demanding equal treatment with sources.
Gaijin’s policy is clear as day: if X vehicle is compatible with Y weapon system it can be added in order to fulfill balance.
Most important factor is vehicle should be capable of carrying munitions, if vehicle fulfills this check then it’s up to Gaijin to add it.
In this case munitions such as Aim-120C5-8 are totally fine for Swedish Gripen as it carries in real life, and let’s not forget it will eventually receive Meteors with IRIS-T as well.
I still place top 1 or 2 regularly in the Gripen. new missiles would just help give them more energy farther out giving you more posibilities. even though the FM is nerfed and AoA and everything is lower than real life it is still very much competetive at 14.0 right now since that is basically all you meet.
Let me rephrase that, i have no interest in playing the Gripen because i dont care for it because i have no interest in playing a fake jet that never existed in its current state
