What’s the difference between the Gripen NG and E?
Weight, rear wing design and EW.
Right now the Gripen NG would be the only unique Gripen for Sweden as no nation can get it, additionally the Gripen E specializes in Electronic warfare, adding it right now would essentially skip an even more unique Gripen and add a Gimped E model.
We dont have Meteor or IRIS-T, both NG and E can use them. But the NG would be essentially the E without the Electronic warfare system and could be added to be the equal to the EFT and other 14.0 aircraft.
That leaves the Gripen E for when we get more advanced missiles and Electronic warfare systems allowing it to utilize its main purpose.
