JAS-39E for Sweden

Are you aware of the payloads Gripen is capable of currying on the belly pylons?

I think AIM120D and PL15 is almost available, so JAS 39E’s possible to get AIM120D ?

@Necronomica @Michael-IR split that into two, my oversight in making it one issue but wanted to push that out asap

Excellent point. So either they haven’t changed the flight model yet, or they would probably ignore this source. I’ve personally gotten it to supercruise at around mach 1.04 on the deck. I wonder if that 1.25 mach applies to high altitude, clean/full loadout, or a bunch of other factors. It’s not clear on that.

Awesome! ^^

For the E i think the only thing we’ve seen are AIM-120 and Meteor. It’s 99% certain it’s also capable of bombs and bombracks but i don’t think i’ve personally seen or heard of that on the E yet.

I have seen it with e paveways but did not take a picture at the airshow
I dont know the sice but 4x paveway 12 and and 2 of the bigger ones were said to cary

Bother, hoped you’d have documentation on air to ground payload on the belly pylons, worried if it’s not reported we’ll have some very limited pylon usage.

I’ll look into it if I’ve time.

The belly pylon line can also carry an anti-ship missile, if I’m not mistaken.

I saw it with 2x4 spice 250 in belly pylons also

There has been VERY limited info on specifics for the E in general, it only got into service in Sweden just a couple of months ago.

Most i could find is promotional material, saab articles, sale presentations to brazil and india, and flight shows

India has delivered it ?

Friendly reminder that JA37 manual is still partially classified. Kinda related kinda not but puts it into perspective. Best sources we have are expos or brochures

Gripen Blog For India didnt go through obviously but theres plenty articles from saab that otherwise arent there for other markets, i recall seeing one powerpoint presentation but i can’t find it now, if i find it ill post

But what good is our resident Swede if they haven’t all the information on Swede plane smh (joke)

I just want a bit more flexibility in air to ground, hate being shafted with pylons that I’d like other armaments on to lack. Some stuff it makes sense, some stuff it don’t. Peeving when it don’t. I feel like it should be able to carry 39s on the belly but no clue.

Wasn’t the one at the airshow the Prototype aircraft?

6002 is one of the prototypes.
