JAS-39E for Sweden

Triangle*-ifying the Gripen wing obviously most important thing.

*Couldn’t remember the correct shape name.

Nice!

Are you doing an MFD report too? I saw you posted some good pictures earlier

All the way back to Viggens - yes they all should

Not planning on it currently. Feel free to use the images and sources for your own report though.

Made a report for the SPICE 1000 for gripen E

I hope someone is doing the air to air loadout report…I believe someone said it can carry up to 9 ARH and 1 IR.

I have no sources on loadouts other than it has 10 hard points.

I don’t think we’re going to need a report for that. Smin said It’s still in its ‘configuration stage’, and missing some things. Currently the loadouts are just directly copied from the 39C. I doubt they’re unaware of it’s loadout (7x fox 3 + 2x fox 2).

Well, I hope you are right. The Spice 250 was reported and accepted. I have also been surprised at some loadouts from Gaijin. If I had an actual source, I would report it just in case. Smin did encourage reporting asap since timelines to update are tight.

[DEV] JAS 39 GRIPEN E WRONG ENGINE

I think i found some information about the IRST should we need it, i don’t think it’s implemented on DEV yet so can’t check if it’s correct. I’m not sure if this information applies to the version “G” that is in JAS39E either.

IRST is implemented on Dev.

Are you in-game looking at the stock engine or the one when the engine module is unlocked?

when the engine module’s unlocked

Oh, i missed that in that case, i thought i cycled through all the options when i test flew it but apparently not :P

It’s usually the first thing I check with new additions, given my fondness for air to ground and the benefit being quiet brings to that.

Powerplant: 1 × General Electric F414-GE-39E (RM16) afterburning turbofan engine, 64 kN (14,400 lbf) thrust [349][d] dry, 98 kN (22,000 lbf) with afterburner

Powered by a single GE F414-GE39E afterburning tubofan offering 64 kN of thrust (98 kN with afterburner), the Gripen E has a maximum speed of 2,100 km/h at 15,240 m, a service ceiling of 52,000 ft (6,000 m), a combat range of 1,500 km and a ferry range of 4,000 km.

[DEV] JAS 39 GRIPEN E WRONG ENGINE

The in-game engines (all of them) also have less thrust than the numbers mentioned in all the specifications due to something called “channel loss”. When an engine is tested it’s on a testbench and get 100% of the air it needs to run, when installed in an aircraft the engine get less air due to the airflow being restricted by the intakes and things like that. So the DEV’s usually take away a percentage of thrust but i can’t remember the exact number.

Number varies quite considerably between platforms. Some of them are sod all, some of them are quite heavily impacted.

But it is lost too much, based on sources E should be faster like 20% than C
