Japanese infantry discussion

Gaijin did add them to enlisted they don’t do much.

I think Gaijin will likely fill out the lower tiers of Japanese infantry with some rare Japanese WW2 weapons that where still in use (Very rare Very limited stuff), strange prototypes (Don’t know), Import proposals from the USA and Western Countries (UK, France).

Weapon companies really like trying to sell nations rifles stuff even though its likely to fail. I remember reading somewhere in the 1930s Japan got samples of M1 Thompsons with the hope they would buy the license. Post war the USA did give Japan some.

As far as I know (source: Japanese Wikipedia), the only weapon used by police and security forces during WWII that was Japanese is the Type 99 rifle converted to use Springfield cartridges. The Imperial Japanese Army was completely disarmed, and most of its equipment was scrapped.

Gaijin could add security forces equipment. AKA the National Safety Force. We are here for your safety

This is a list of weapons of the Japanese police forces and security forces (1951-1954).

Honestly, in an infantry mode, the Kawasaki H-13H would even be a useful helicopter. It could have been used in years without MANPADS, and it has access to machine guns as well as guided and unguided rockets.

I’m surprised Gaijin has not added it in yet.

This may sound dumb but when Japan was rearming was there any Import proposals from corporations for equipment?

Some prototype weapons were developed, and the Japanese, for example, tested the AK-47 in the 1980s and compared it with the Showa Type 89. However, I don’t know much about this weaponry.

Type 87 I-Go still running just slap a cope cage and ERA and your good to go!

By any chance, isn’t the JGSDF a country without ERA in service? I know ERA was tested on the Type 74G and Type 16, but I don’t think it’s in service.

I think so is there enough info to make a suggestion for an ERA Type 74G and Type 16? Or is that already cooking by the ground pounders.

Type 61 wouldn’t be too bad

The Type 61 appeared in 1961, and its prototypes around 1957-58. The infantry mode begins with the Korean War (1950-1953). At that time, the Japanese main battle tanks were the M24 and M4.

There are no public photos of the Type 74 G with ERA, nor is its location known. There may even be a suggestion of a Type 16 ERA on the forum. I don’t know of any specifications for the Japanese ERA.

Bayonet lug where?

We need a ape where meme for this whenever the snail does a Japan firearms blog.

Here you go

I hear yes officer swords are still a thing in the Japanese army (rare)

But what are your thoughts on the Guntō should it be in game even if it’s for the memes. Or the Kaiguntō for the ones who go for a swim with your sword.

If there are modern images for context that would be cool.

It all depends on how the gamemode will work and how big the maps are. I’m hoping for big map that requires a vehicle to drive infantry to get to a point.
