I did a bit of digging on the bomb load options for the Jaguar GR.1, and found out that the bomb loads, rockets and maybe missiles are incorrect to a degree.
While the bomb loads for the 1000 and 540 is correct. it is missing the 24x110kg option. This basic bomb load option seems to be a universal selection for all SEPECAT Jaguar models, Regardless of nation. As shown in the image below, original and translated.
(The source I have to rely on is from the Ministry of Air, USSR. As the official documentation for the aircraft is protected by Section 26 and 27 of the Officials Secret Act 1987 UK as informed by the Ministry of Defence, UK when emailed via a Freedom of Information Request. However, there is the possibility that information could be used, but requires proper understanding of the wording to given by the UK MoD as to ascertain legality for public access. Meaning the only decent source is this handbook.)
there is quite a bit of information of this sort, around another 3-pages of information, there is one piece which interested me. And that was when it mentioned the Aim-9L system as seen here:
In short, the Jaguars (Britain and France) should have uniformed bomb loads for dumb fire, but a unique selection of possible guided weaponry when the time comes. In addition to the British Jaguar’s should have access to 9L’s, but I am unable to figure out if its for the GR.1A, or both. Either way, the Jaguar as some interesting features, such as a similar Helmet mount display to the F-16 for gun fighting and " " Missile Launching " ". Need more time to figure that out before posting about that.
hmmm, for some reason the ones I managed to find are…not sure why. Now I’m very confused, might be a case of the amendment record sheet on the documentation. last note was 1981, so that might be the reasoning.
All bought from the RAF museum and via FOI. Are you confusing the fact they have their markings on them still? The UK doesn’t work the same as the USA, things that have export restrictions don’t get released in the hope everyone won’t share them. They just don’t release them at all.
They also don’t remove the markings once released.
this was the response I got, when I provided the 2 PDF’s which I managed to find. the part that has me confused and honestly not wanting to get in serious trouble is the last sentence…
One is titles "Jaguar GR Mk1 and T Mk 2 Aircrew Manual Book 1 - Aircraft
the other is
Jaguar Aircraft Operating Data Manual By Command of the Defence Council - Ministry of Defence
both have restricted listed on all pages both top and bottom. and both have a amendment date of 1981.
both where found on the same website, posted by the same person. All I simply did was submit a FOI on the GR.1, and enquired about the status of the documents in question to see if it was given the “All Clear”
Ohhhh the old ones for sale. Yeah I can’t speak to those, but I have much more modern ones completely legitimately. And the FOI officer also pointed out that accessing and using that information as a third party (which is you) is not an offence.
Okay, that was the part which scared me beyond belief… Was if it was all good or not. So, just to double check…and So I am not misunderstanding the whole thing. Its perfectly okay, for me to post those 2 documents in full here.
here are the pdf’s…took me a while to drop them, but that is rather interesting to see. then again, being on the other side of the world doesn’t help :D
Fairo, have to admit that is rather funny how both documents are viewable when they really shouldn’t. Thought, what has me curious, is if they received other variants of the Sidewinder system. As both only getting the 9G seems to be interesting given both are roughly 10 years apart.
Also, on a different note did you manage to find any info on the flare/Chaff dispensers on the Jaguars. As I’d love to know the reasoning for the GR.1A’s low count compared to the Jaguar A varient.
I see, makes sense from a balance point of view as of current.
I would hope, when it is right to do so. that the Missile systems get updated and I’d love to see the Phimat chaff pods in-game one day. be better than having only 60 flares.
