Premium JA37Di got some new camo for it. I’m wondering which one could it be considering “quadricolor camouflage” was never fitted to Di models. Here my guesses (D / D / Di):
They already showed it, its just the basic quadricolor. I expect them to leave the TT bare bones since they dont really care about adding camos 90% of the time.
Yeah the basic quadricolor is the pre-order camo but I was talking about “F16” one which we havent seen yet
Again ill have a pretty good laugh when the premium is the only swedish jet to get multiple camos (aside from the AJS) cant wait for the TT Di to have nothing
it really does not matter that they have added fox-3s premiums, the Viggen has an aged air frame for top tier, it drinks fuel and loses speed very quickly. it will suffer horribly at 13.0. this is a blatant money grab and so many suckers will swallow it down their throat.
How is it a money grab? We’re getting (free) techtree Di alongside the premium version. If AV-8B+ can hold its ground at 13.0 Viggen will aswell
Genuine question
Doesn thr Viggens radar have TWS mode?
It does since early fighter variants (JA37, JA37C, JA37D, JA37Di)
Ahh sweet, thanks.
The whole thing has me wondering where abouts the Di will land on performance. I’ve never flown a Viggen before only the Drakens so far. They seem to have pretty excellent flight performance, but the radar and RWR dont seem the best. Giving it RB99s should make 13.0 quite balanced I think? I mean it doesnt have the aim9LI like the F4F ICE, nor the top grade radar or RWR, but maybe the flight performance makes up for it
It doesn’t really have any redeeming factors and idk if it’s even getting Additional CMs like the JA-37D, it’s looking slightly sad and ig we’ll have to wait and see how many DL channels it gets
Why wouldnt it get the additional countermeasures like the D since its a D model with an international cockpit
Because irl they removed the RWR (replaced with a wooden mockup of it iirc) and made some other changes to the airframes, idk if that includes CM count too
Flight performance is more than enough to sling AIM-120s down range. RWR is a problem yes since its analog with only 4 antennas but at least it gives you info about LOCK, CW, HPRF, MPRF so you know when its just a lock from the jet, if its SARH being launched or if its ARH missile locking you.
JA37Di was based on D version hence all D-related upgrades apply. Main technological changes from D to Di were imperial/english cockpit in NATO standard and addition of GPS (D had previsions for that already).
RWR removal is just a rumor based on photos from post-service display JA37Di’s. You can clearly see rear RWR antennas here:
Eh regardless it’s a mediocre model of RWR that is pretty much outshone by literally every other set at the BR since it’s not been modelled correctly
Its pretty correctly modelled tho. JA37 RWR was sound based with no visual warnings. Gaijin gave them 4 detection zones in game because thats the number of RWR antennas on the model.
Is what i was getting at, in game it doesn’t function as it’s intended and funny sound warnings, meaning it’s just a glorified SPO-15 functionality wise in wt
Kinda sucks that they didn’t receive an upgraded rwr out of all things. Would it really cost that much if gripen has a fully digital one anyway?
The JA-37D was just a stop-gap until they development of the gripen was finished, it wasn’t an extensive upgrade program to the same scope as the F-4F ICE
So did it give direction based sound for the pilot?
