J10C and J15T countermeasures

It’s not known for sure how many countermeasures these two aircraft use in real life; relying solely on the visible countermeasure cartridges as the only information is problematic.
even more so when the J10C only has 72 countermeasures and the J15 only has 48.
That’s a very low amount for 14.3-14.7.
Since the exact number of countermeasures is unknown, assigning them a reasonable number relative to their BRs would not be unrealistic; it would be a balancing act.
The game, besides being realistic, must above all else be balanced.

Where exactly would the extra countermeasures be then?

“we dont know how many CMs they have IRL”
“relying on IRL data is problematic”

J-15 uses 48 CMs IRL

There is an argument that they could sacrifice the large caliber CMs for more standard CMs.

The blocks should be interchangeable, like the J-10s

if each of those lines of dispensers is a line of 4, there are 16 lines, which means 64?

It is 6+6+6 on the right side and 6+6+9+9 on the left side.

All large caliber.

If this was done for all aircraft, it would get out of control

Another pic. There is something about the large CMs being able to be switched for more smaller ones, but I gotta check that

the problem with more modern aircraft is that they rely on electronic warfare suites we just don’t have in the game for now or ever

its 3 not 4

ya mb lol

Very clear image of the CM’s

I think doubling the amount of CM for it as a compensation would be a solution i would agree with, even of its not “realistic”. I mean the game gets pretty ridiculous enough as is especially at top tier for me to care that much, i just want the additions to be fun to play and realistic to an extent.

The thing I never understood about these points is that if modern aircraft rely on EW suites, then why do the western planes that arguably have the strongest EW suites still take so much CMs? Never made sense to me.

You would see strong EW aircraft sacrifice CMs since it’s not needed as much, but that isn’t the case.

for j-15t it’s the exact same layout as su-33 which gets 48 APP-50 cms

Bc they can. It is better to have than not to have. Most cm count comes from bol pods anyway so its not a plane thing but more so a wepon thing.

i wouldnt have any problem with it personally, 48 is just so anemic, give it at least 98 like its contemporaries i’d say

western doctrine is about having as many levels of redundancy as possible on all our vehicles, in the air or on the ground. so if one system fails there are as many other layers of systems to try and pick up where the ever left the situation. i suppose the doctrine is different for redfor, maybe because they work much closer at home near their airbases or over their own soil where they have completely seperate systems to help deal with air problems, but installed on the ground or seperate vehicles.
that’d be my guess. but it is still a GUESS

From British testing data combining chaff and towed decoys resulted in miss distances that shocked the USA staff who reviewed our testing results. Pretty wild to carry such a small amount when it makes TRDs so much more effective.
