So recently ive bought a pc, i had the impression that i could just transfer my progress but gaijin has shut that down for now… But im really wanting to use custom skins (user skins) but in order to keep my progress ive downloaded warthunder through the xbox app.
Am i still able to use User skins although the warthunder on my pc is from the xbox app?

Yes you’re able to use user skins regardless of wherever you installed War Thunder as long you have access to the game installation files because user skins need to be manually installed. Usually, using Steam-downloaded War Thunder as example, it’s the following:
\Steam\steamapps\common\War Thunder\UserSkins
right so i’d have to access the xbox games file, find warthunder in there and then user skins?
You will have more customization for settings if you install warthunder from their website instead of the xbox app. You will still retain progress and purchases but from the Warthunder website download you won’t be able to view packs. This is what I use and custom skins work fine.
