@I_MiikaL_I
i concede xD
i meant that the whole activity time/rewards calculation is just bullshit and doesnt really show actual activity
like in arb activity literally means nothing cus you can bomb a base and fly away and endup with 90%
I mean yeah, back when I was nuke speedrunning in the Fox/ZA-35, I was earning on average 4-8k RP per 2-5 minute game with upwards of 8 kills, which is insane compared to a game earning the same amount but where you cap 1 point, get some assists/kills and live a long time. It’s to incentivise not 1DL but doesn’t feel very rewarding if you perform the best during the first half of a match
These two for example, I earned a signifigantly higher amount of RP in the first game because I lived about 5 minutes longer, despite getting less kills
Respawning reduces activity%.
They probably do well in first life then cannot find people to shoot on their second life because of how quickly teams collapse.
I haven’t played GRB in a while but…
Activity is a non-linear function of time spent alive against score earned.
For ARB we have this conceptual diagram:
Notice how if you earn 1000 score, you survive for 5 minutes you gain ~75% activity. If you don’t do anything else but survive for 8 minutes it goes to just under 90% activity while doing literally nothing. Your activity goes up to 90% then drops back down to ~85% at 10 minutes.
For ASB we have this:
ASB is very easy to quantify because “Time alive” is capped at 15 minutes and thus we simplify f(time alive, score earned) to a simple f(15:00, score earned) graph hence the wildly different shape (first graph we’ve variables on X and Y and use contours of Z whereas on ASB graphs variable is just X which outputs Y).
200 points = 54% reward
400 points = 75% reward
600 points = 86% reward
800 points = 90% reward
1050+ points = 92% reward
We really should come together and collect individual spawn score and activity associated with that spawn to figure out the shape of the GRB and GSB activity function.
The big issue is how activity% carries over between lives.
We need rigorous testing of recording score earned at time of death, then activity% for that respawn, then score earned on second life and activity% for second life and so on.
I cba to do it myself given GRB ends up making me annoyed with the yak and f4u spam quite quickly and I go back to my planes.
fyi this is what rigorous testing & documentation means:
22 different vehicles tested, each vehicle multiple times and the data across all of these vehicles was then graphed appropriately.
Are you really blaming him for having a life? He’s not the one who needs to question himself bro
50 games fine but activity is not where it needs to be related to have a life
Yeah idk why his activity is so low, idk maybe he just plays risky… anyway my point stands that there’s nothing wrong with playing 50 games a week
yeah he could be one death leaver or wasnt even really playing close to objective thats why i said the blame is on him
Ground RP gains are terrible.
To grind a new top tier rank VIII aircraft (like the Typhoon) it took me about 4-6 hours (with talismanned aircraft)
To grind a new top tier battleship (like vanguard) it took me about a day and half to 2 days (with talismanned ship)
To grind a rank VI ground vehicle (recently finished the vickers line so things like the Vickers Mk11/VFM5) with a premium or talismanned vehicles. Took days and days, and that was even making use of the daily bonus as well.
Ground based RP gains could easily be doubled, but they also need to rework how rewards are gained, so they are less from activity time and more from actions. I was averaging more RP with 1-2 air kill in an SPAA but spending most of the match AFK than I was capping points and pushing the enemy team with a premium MBT and multiple spawns
I don’t play ground so I don’t have an opinion on one death leavers and such
This level of skill is beyond my imagination
Actually fairly easy. Tornado Gr4 with Talisman in ASB, maximise survival over anything else and stick a good TV show on the other screen.
I’ve never seem anything higher than 20k rp reward in arb. And when I’m not super focused I just die so fast… this is all way beyond me
Also are attackers so good at grinding in asb?
Unlike in RB, ground attackers actually do well, they can hide and evade the enemy team much easier and there is something to drop bombs onto 100% of the time.
Rewards in SB are less about doing the maximum number of things and rather about doing 1 or 2 things but staying alive, ideally getting back to base reguarly.
So in a decent ground attacker, with some smart tactics, you easily get from your AF, an enemy base or AF, drop the bombs and get back again, without ever being spotted by the enemy team, and you’ll start to gemerate a decent amount of RP and SL with every sortie. The annoying bit comes when you die at the start of the current 15 minute window (rewards paid out every 15 minutes) and so despite doing enough to get the full reward at the end of that window, you get 1/15th of that reward per minute you are in that window.
When you say a decent amount of rp and sl how much is that roughly?
Merkava mk4 recently took me ages with prem time and the Ra’am sagol, and I played 2-3 hour play sessions that were generally consistent with 3-8 kills plus assists/caps etc.
Ground top tier grinding takes a substantially and disproportionate amount more grinding than air, where 400k is pretty trivial and can be done in 4ish hours
SL is easy to see, its in the stat card for aircraft. So Tornado GR4 is 2595 SL / min so thats about 39k every 15 minutes (premiums as you can imagine, just print SL in ASB)
RP, I dont recall exactly. I havent dont any SB matches in a while to go look, I think I was averaging about 20k per 15 minute segment
Yeah. I have no idea how they consider ground RP gains as acceptable
Well sl is what I need the most, sounds like I should switch to asb (it also looks so much cooler than arb). Though I’ll need to buy a hotas for that innit?
Yeah, it can be, naval is another good option for printing SLs, thats actually my go to these days.
And no, you dont need a HOTAS, War Thunder has a half decent virtual joystick, quite a few players manage without. Though I do personally use a HOTAS
Can ask over in:
if anyone has a setup guide for the virtual joystick
